Review summary

Good, as usual. The Crew make a Cruise and this was no exception. Princess have an outstanding Team who make every effort to ensure you have a memorable holiday. Food was excellent and the Ports on this cruise are brilliant.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Embarkation from Brisbane was quick and easy as there were only approx. 450 people joint the ship.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Food was very good with many choices available through the cruise. The Sterling Steakhouse however was below the normal par with the presentation not as expected and what we have received in the past. Drink prices have increased dramatically and wine is over the top. 1st time ever, we took wine onboard and paid the corkage. Many others did the same and those who didn’t complained that cost were over the top.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The Cruise Director, Jody and her Team were excellent and just being themselves was entertaining. Being a cruise with older people, there were not a lot of ACTIVE ACTIVITIES, however we did compete in the Boat Challenge, my wife enjoyed her Trivia each day which was always fun. Gym is well equipped and the Instructor was very good in his work.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
DJ was always full of fun and he conducted many of the Trivia games. The Stage shows were very good, however no where near as many as in the past. Some individual entertainers were excellent, some unfortunately not up to the usual standard.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
As always with Princess, the Children’s program is Ist Class.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Excellent is the only word needed. Happy, friendly, joking and professional all at the same time.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Very clean, however the Sea Princess is showing her age. Facilities are good, buy we must understand she is over twenty years in age and needs a BIG refurbishment. Saying that, I would have no hesitation to cruise on her again, as we are in December this year.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Small but functional, hanging space is at a premium but it is what it is. We made do. Very clean and well maintained. Bathroom adequate. TV due to limitations is small. No Movies on demand :(

Ship tip

Take your own Wine and pay the $15.00 corkage. Don’t expect a new ship, it isn’t but it is a good ship, great Crew and all the facilities u would expect from a ship her age. Enjoy and take her for what she is.

Ports of call

Brisbane, Australia

4 out of 5
Home Port. Work in progress due to extensive building going on. Embarkation quite good. Disembarking was not as good, lack of trolleys and congestion.

Suva, Fiji

3 out of 5
Why we go there I do not know. There are many other Fiji Islands that are much more attractive.

Cross International Dateline

5 out of 5
Yes, we crossed the date line and the celebrations were quite funny and enjoyable. If you haven’t done it, join in the fun and get down and dirty.

Pago Pago, American Samoa

4 out of 5
A wry good Port with much to see. Take a trip around the island, it is well worth the effort. Very hot and humid as was expected.

Honolulu, Oahu

5 out of 5
Speaks for itself. So much to see, do and shopping.

Nawiliwili, Kauai

5 out of 5
Also an excellent Port with a walk to shops, beach and Restaurants.

Lahaina, Maui

5 out of 5
As all the Hawaiian Islands this also is a very interesting Port with much to see and do. And Shopping :)

Kailua-Kona, Hawaii

Again, an excellent Port.

Hilo, Hawaii

Excellent Port.

Papeete, Tahiti

4 out of 5
Papeete is a City. Shopping, eating etc. It is worthwhile taking a tour and seeing the sites away from the City. Beautiful country and scenery.

Moorea, French Polynesia

5 out of 5
One of our favourite Ports. Swimming with the Sharks and Stingrays is a must. Just pray for good weather and you will have an experience “of a lifetime”

Bora Bora, French Polynesia

5 out of 5
One of the most beautiful islands you could imagine. Absolutely wonderful scenery and don’t miss the Sailaway and have plenty of Battery on your camera. Also swimming with Sharks/Stingrays here is excellent. Added with a Boat ride around the islands.

Auckland, New Zealand

4 out of 5
Auckland also being a big City is what it is. The Hop On Hop Off Bus is worth the effort and money.. Many interesting attractions that u visit and then move on to the next one. A good service and regular as clockwork.

Bay Of Islands, New Zealand

5 out of 5
A Port to look forward to. Very good Market with much hand made and local products, all at reasonable prices. Good Township within walking distance and the Locals provided bus transportation from the Tender to the town. Take a helicopter flight over the islands and again, make sure you have your camera charged. An fantastic experience and worth the money.

Sydney, Australia

5 out of 5
Beautiful City with the best Harbour in the World. Be sure to be up early for some unforgettable sites and photo opportunities. Opera House, Harbour Bridge, Fort Denison to name a few. Is it The Rocks, near the OPT for a visible History lesson of Sydney.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
Poor, Brisbane is having major building works and the lack of trolleys and congestion just added to the problem.
