Sea Princess

14 Night Grand Caribbean Islander (Ft. Lauderdale Roundtrip)

Sail date: April 08, 2006

Ship: Sea Princess

Cabin type: Oceanview

Traveled as: Couple

Reviewed: 18 years ago

Review summary

The ship was reasonably well layed out with the following exceptions - The a cabins are about 2 feet too narrow - the bathrooms are too small as a result you have to open the door to dry yourself. The over all appearance of the ship was very well presented. A Balcony could alleviate seating problems in the theaters. The overall cruise was a memory at every port and we met some wonderful people from all over the world.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
I could not make a comment on the food that would justify the excellence of the presentation, quality and taste

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The theaters are too small to accommodate the amout of people attending. A balcony would solve this problem and allow every one to see the shows. WE were turned down several times because of seating

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We were over all impressed witht the staff with the exception of one lead bartender in the bar by the pool on deck 12 - she was rude to us and to the staff in front of the public. The other staff went out of their way to ensure that your trip was everything that you wanted it to be.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
ship was very well decorated with thought into each and every publ;ic area. Public areas were very clean and well kept and esily accessible

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Just a bit too small as well as the bathroom was tight. The other layout was good but not excellent. The stateroom attendant was extremely pleasand and helpful at all times. He was always smiling and very happy which shows how the staff is treated.

Ports of call

Margarita (Isla De Margarita), Venezuela

3 out of 5
our tour guise was very good and sang for us and had the people on the bus involved she gave a great history lesson - we did however find the island very "dirty" with broken bottles and garbage almost every where we went. The water at the lunch stop was dirty with garbage adn too many local people selling stuff - they were very pushy here.

George Town, Grand Cayman

3 out of 5
too many ships - too many people - worry about all the impact on the stingrays with at least 500 people at a time out there - it was interesting but way too many people at a time.

Fort-De-France, Martinique

1 out of 5
did not like this island - the people were rude

Bridgetown, Barbados

5 out of 5
we went 4WD and Sail with lunch - the lunch was only about a 3 on a scale of 1 - 5
Don't Miss: the beaches on the north side for pictures

St. George's, Grenada

5 out of 5
water falls and spice farm were great - too many panhandle people by the falls - trying to make us pay for them jumping into the water when we didn't even ask them to do it nor did we see one dive.
Don't Miss: people and waterfalls

Tortola, British Virgin Islands

5 out of 5
the caves where we power snorkeled al though there were about 10 boats all with snorkeling people so you kept bumping in to others.
Don't Miss: the people of the island

Oranjestad, Aruba

5 out of 5
we enjoyed the people on this island very much also the side tour with snorkeling was grat and will leave memories for a long time.
Don't Miss: Turtles

Princess Cays (Cruise Line Private Island)

5 out of 5
We really enjoyed this until the rain - however we have been here before and know it is an absolutely beautiful start to a cruise. The BBQ was excellent. The view from the tower was breautiful even tho it was cloudy. The cabanna's are way to far from the eating and activity area. It was a waste of money for us.
Don't Miss: the snorkeling

Roseau, Dominica

5 out of 5
This was our first adventure with tubing and it was everything we expected - except the water level was a bit low - but this is no ones fault except mother nature.
Don't Miss: river tubing

St. John's, Antigua

3 out of 5
have been here before - I think the local shopping is the only thing we enjoyed this time
Don't Miss: the jewellery

Pros: The people the ports of call and the staff on board

Cons: Martinique - the people were rude
