Best cruise experience ever by Akasha78

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Scarlet Lady

This was my 27th cruise and first on Virgin! To say I was impressed is an understatement. This was the best cruise experience I've ever had. We are major foodies and their food options and quality were exceptional. The entertainment was creative and fun. The service was exceptional. Ship was beautiful!

Ahoy- was a joy! by karma5

This was our first Virgin Voyages cruise; traveled as 4 couples and enjoyed the brief getaway. Nice mix of activities, time on your own and group dinners. Kudos to the Experience Team and to Virgin for recognizing a commitment to customer service and the travel experience.

A unique and fun time by BnCTcruising

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Scarlet Lady

This was our second on the Scarlet Lady. Our first unfortunately had really rough seas due to the winds and we were not able to port in Key West. Virgin gave everyone a 25% future cruise credit so we jumped right back on for this one. They really do take care of their guests. The staff is great and seem to really enjoy their jobs. Food is the best we’ve had yet.

Not my cup of tea by hpssw10

Great weather so smooth sailing. Absolutely no announcements but music over speakers was loud so it was difficult to find a good quiet area.

Scarlet Lady - December 13-17, 2023 by CamintheVA

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Scarlet Lady

The weather played a big part in our cruise. It rained the entire time and the water was very choppy. Our two ports got canceled because of the weather and we ended up going to Cozumel. I am a very laid back person so this didn’t bother me. I was just happy being able to relax and be on vacation.

Changed Itinerary-some good and bad by kellsntx

If you drink even a little, do the bar tab. The best part of the cruise was no kids.

Will Try VV Again by workhardflymore

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Scarlet Lady

The bad weather caused a total change of itinerary, so we were bummed initially. We would give VV another chance because of how good the food was.

Did Virgin live up to the hype? by CuriouzTravels

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Scarlet Lady

As a travel agent who has sailed with Royal Caribbean for years, my goal this year is to explore other companies. Out of all the companies I have on my list, Virgin was the one I was most excited about sailing. I must say that there are some small things that I’m ok with over looking, and overall, I really enjoyed my experience with Virgin. Let me first say that I know that the cruise lines can’t control the weather. There was a complete itinerary change due to weather, and I think Virgin could’ve been a little more transparent about this. The disembarkation was terrible, and not solely because of the weather delay. It was obvious that there was no control, and many staff appeared to not know what they were doing. Other than the disembarking, and itinerary change, I thoroughly enjoyed Virgin Voyages. I’m going back on Scarlet Lady in 11 days, and I look forward to the XL Sea Terrace. The Manor is the place to be if you like to party, and the food was great. I actually like the food better on Virgin than I do on Royal… that should tell you something 😉. Their pizza is the best pizza I’ve had on a ship (hands down). Scarlet Night was a blast to see, and I love to see adults relaxing without kids. I will say that I’m surprised at the size of the casino on this ship (compared to other cruise companies), considering there are no kids. To sum it up, I like Virgin, and look forward to sailing with them again.

Less-than-ideal weather makes for less-than-ideal cruise by naddavr

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Scarlet Lady

Would like to try Virgin Voyages again. Of course no one can control the weather, but we can control how we respond to it. And VV has a lot to learn in its “backup” plans for poor weather.

Adult time by Deesse

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Scarlet Lady

With future ships consider having bigger gym. During this sailing there were times that the gym was too full and difficult to have access to some gym equipments and weights. I wish that I could have used extra money on my bar tab for spa or shopping. Or at the very least I could have put in my chosen dollar amount for bar tab rather than only $300 option. I love the fact that many of the restaurants have a bar section. I absolutely love the galley idea versus the buffet idea. The food throughout the ship was outstanding. I love the diversity of the crew and sailors I love how there was over 2000 sailors on my sailing but it never felt crowded on the ship. The entertainers were great at their craft. Service throughout the ship was excellent, I never had to wait long for anything, including the elevator. The whole experience felt very classy and adult driven.

Can’t wait to sail again by CocoPompoms

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Scarlet Lady

This was my first cruise and I was sailing solo. I love that Virgin Voyages had solo meet ups so we could make friends and connect with other solos. I loved the spa. I love the food I loved my sea terrace cabin and my red hammock on my balcony, on board the best part was not seeing a screaming grimy little kid for 5 days. If you’re homophobic or anti drag queens stay off these ships, the world doesn’t need your hate.

Fun short cruise adventure by LisaKitty

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Scarlet Lady

This was a fun five-day cruise aboard the Scarlet Lady. I wasn't a big fan of the fully booked ship's crowds, or of the heavy drinking party vibe of the solo cruisers' group. However, I found great places to relax, and fun things to do. The food was 100% as good as I remembered. I highly recommend this ship and itinerary.

In a couple of words, overcrowded and understaffed by adipilato

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Scarlet Lady

But given the premium price you expect more. We got to the port and waited in line to get on the ship. Boarding is later at 4 pm unlike all other cruise lines so lunchtime is past and have to do a drill. So basically no lunch on the 1st day. When we went to our cabin my wife's luggage arrived around 5. Ask the steward for mine. While walking to dinner I saw my luggage 20 rooms down in front of someone else's door. Mentioned to the deck manager we looked together at the luggage tag and it was not clear because it was handwritten by the port porters which I think is a bad idea unlike all other cruise companies. Then we ate a terrible dinner at the test kitchen at 6 pm and waited 30 minutes before we got a drink.I had to talk with the manager I mentioned show res at 7;30. Said he would take care of us. A couple of apps came out by 7:30 the main course was late. Left in disgust went to the show which was full with no seats .  Left so  no lunch and dinner at the galley was too late to have on the 1st day. We did not like that the restaurants for brunch closed at 12:45 around the time we like to have lunch. ( Wake and razel dazel)When we went the next day to razels half of the restaurant was empty but the rep said it was book and had to sit on uncomfortable seats at the bar. After we ate an hour later we left and the restaurant was still half empty, commenting on the really poor scheduling   We were disappointed to find out that the early show starts at 6:30 and some 7 most nights but dinner opens at 6 so you can't make early shows and the later shows are sold out. We did go to try standing room but could not see the performers and other shows where seats were available you could not see the performers. literally seating in an area where you could hear only.  We found that the late shows are book up by the suite people and rock stars We were surprised that the pools were not heated so they were cold. Also no way to phone any services on the ship directly you have to call the customer service. Galley had one person serving food so lines were backed up, especially long lines at daily mix( salad Bar). Also we felt very limited selections and if you wanted service at your table it takes twice as long than getting it yourself. Pizza opened late too for lunch at 2pm. Again long Lines and wait for it to be ready. I mentioned to the manager to have plain and a couple of other types ready like other cruise lines. Bingo the lines were through the casino, really poor. Wife wanted to buy an expensive dress but no dressing room said to try the bathroom. Left it there Again waited to get into every dining room because only one person for the whole room checkin in people. Most music areas had no dance floor really. Half the seats have no pads making them comfortable  PJ night and scarlet night started too late. They started at 11:30  I have been on 80 cruises in the past 40 years. So they did a status match, their dedicated support person never returned my calls. We did like that it was different but fell way short of our expe

A+ for Service, but C- for Food by moeswife

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Scarlet Lady

The service was PHENOMENAL, but the food was average at best. I love that they have lots of options, but I found myself leaving the eateries unsatisfied because I didn’t finish my meal and would end up eating pizza and salad. I didn’t care much for the entertainment offered, but it didn’t ruin my trip.

Great Short Cruise by Afonso1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Scarlet Lady

I would highly recommend this line for adults you will see and feel the Virgin Difference, I have cruised on many lines but this one is definitely at the top they offer so many upgraded options that other cruise lines charges extra for or offer it just for guests booked on suites etc...this includes the Beach Club lounges, from comfortable lounges to great dining venue options to complimentary noncarbonated beverages so unlike the waterdown drinks you get with others...I even bought 2 next cruise vouchers which i have never done in the past...overall a great experience and will be taking my large group on this one next
