Review summary

The bad weather caused a total change of itinerary, so we were bummed initially. We would give VV another chance because of how good the food was.

Embarkation

Embarkation at the Miami port was seamless. Even though our appointed time was 3pm, we were still able to board at 2:30pm.

Brunch at Razzle Dazzle was fire. The food was high quality and comparable to brick-and-mortar brunch restaurants.

Gunbae

Loved Gunbae! Why haven't other cruise lines started doing Korean BBQ? The food was high quality and comparable to brick-and-mortar KBBQ restaurants.

The ramen was high quality, and comparable to brick-and-mortar ramen restaurants.

The high tea was so fun! The table next to us dressed up in theme with hats and gloves. The scones were delicious.

Great coffee! My friend had a matcha that was comparable to Starbucks.

The Manor

Such a beautiful venue! This is comparable to Vegas-type venues. Make sure you take pics at the IG-worthy mirror walls.

The Pizza Place

The truffle pizza was so good! Believe me, this may be the best pizza on a cruise ship.

Onboard Activities

The VHS class was so much fun! A few of us were dressed to theme in neon clothes, and it made it more fun! The Untitled Party Show was so fun as well because it's definitely a high energy non-traditional cruise show.

The Casino

The casino wasn't that large, and the roulette tables were more relaxed. I liked the vibe compared to more strict casinos.

Entertainment

The Happenings Cast are a great team of entertainers. They really work hard to ensure you have fun. The DJ who played at the Scarlet Night party was great. I really enjoyed how she played music to cater to the older crowd at first then seamlessly flowed to music catered to the younger guests.

Free games! It's nice to not have to pay extra.

The staff was very friendly and hard-working.

We really enjoyed the modernized look of the Scarlet Lady.

Cabin / Stateroom

We fit 3 people in an insider room, and it felt smaller than when the 3 of us were in a NCL inside room. The bunk bed was less comfortable than the other 2 beds. We did like the modern features of VV though.

Keep an open mind, especially if you've cruised with other companies before.

Disembarkation

The disembarkation process was definitely a one-off due to inclement weather, and unfortunately it took 2 hours to get off the ship. Luckily we still made our flight back home, but others weren't so lucky. The poor disembarkation process was a fire/safety hazard, and hopefully VV learned how to avoid this situation for the future.
