Review summary

Would like to try Virgin Voyages again. Of course no one can control the weather, but we can control how we respond to it. And VV has a lot to learn in its “backup” plans for poor weather.

Onboard Activities

This ship is highly dependent on good weather. If/when weather is poor, crew/entertainment have no contingency plan, and as a result all venues just end up with crowds of people just trying to find something to do.

Entertainment

2 out of 5
Perhaps entertainment was good, but because weather was poor, all shows for the cruise were fully booked by 2:00 on embarkation day. Stand-by lines were incredibly long as a result.

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
Because everyone was indoors, there was a lot of strain and demand on crew. But this unfortunately led to lots of service “misses” - orders were forgotten, long waits, missing substitutions. It all felt “messy”

Cabin / Stateroom

This was an ADA room that we were assigned to. Fortunately we did not need any of the accessible-amenities, but if we did there would be a problem. Several of the ADA compliance tools were just not working - the bathroom door, the lights, and the balcony door. We had several other maintenance issues that crew were in and out throughout the cruise.
