Review summary

Loved the ship, loved the cruise. Enjoyed our ports of call and the beautiful scenery. The night we had clear skies and saw the midnight sun was magical.

Easy check in at Southampton. Took about 20 minutes from arrival to being aboard.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We had dinner twice in Sabatini - one prebooked and one complimentary. Both times were superb. Could be in a top London restaurant. However the dining room food was so wonderful, and the service so warm and welcoming not to mention efficient, we didn’t feel the need to go again (if we hadn’t prepaid we’d probably have only gone once). We had several breakfasts in the buffet which was consistently very good, especially the made to order omelette. We also had room service breakfast a couple of times including a hot egg and bacon muffin which stayed hot and fresh. We had lunch between the dining room and buffet - loved it every time. The only food we weren’t keen on was the poolside pizza, but the pizzeria restaurant was excellent. Great pizza. The poolside bars were all great, and Vines wine bar, but we hung out most of the time in Crooners cocktail bar. All the bars are excellent.

Onboard Activities

The adult only pool at the back is our favourite, but the covered pool and conservatory is a great all weather place. We enjoyed the shows in the theatre, and the music in the clubs and bars was always good. Sadly we weren’t that interested in the speakers.

Service and Staff

Everyone we met, without exception was fantastic. How the waitresses and bar staff remember anyone’s name let alone drink preferences and account numbers is a mystery, but they do!

Ship Quality

The layout is great. I love the piazza area and adult only pool and bar. Common areas are well kept except some of the sofas in the Wheelhouse Bar have lost their springs and you couldn’t sit on them. Everywhere was always clean.

Ship tip

Get the drinks package if you expect to drink 6 or more drinks a day.
