Review summary

As a whole it was an enjoyable trip with some interesting things to do. For us being on the ship for 10 nights was a bit long (we will focus on the 4 to 7 night cruises from now on) but I spoke to many that loved it.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The main dining areas all served the same menu. The food was good but nothing out of the ordinary. We ate at at their steak restaurant and it was exceptional. The buffet was disappointing. The food offerings were pedestrian and could have been found just about anywhere. The people serving us were fantastic. Always friendly and very helpful.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Due to the unusually heavy winds the pools were rarely open for use. Any activity for that matter that required some sure footedness or balance pretty much didn't happen.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The shows were generally good but not on par with Vegas. One of the shows had to be postponed due to the rocking of the ship.

Children's Programs

dah ... no kids :-)

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Every one of the ship's personnel we encountered provided excellent service. They were friendly and eager to be of assistance.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The ship was in good repair and maintained well but is in need of some upgrading and refreshing.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Size was small compared to me I guess. Could not use the shower so had to go use the fitness center shower (which wasn't much larger). The steward kept the room clean and well stocked and was responsive to requests.

Ship tip

The clientele tends to lean towards seniors.

Ports of call

San Francisco, California

2 out of 5
One of the dirtiest cities I have ever been in. Highly doubtful I will ever return again.

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska Did not visit port

Canceled due to near gale force headwinds slowing the ship down too much.

Juneau, Alaska

4 out of 5
Typical touristy area near docks. Beautiful scenery and homes out away from ship.

Cruise Glacier Bay

5 out of 5
Great presentation by National Park Rangers and a lot of beautiful photo opportunities.

Ketchikan, Alaska

4 out of 5
More of a small town atmosphere with some interesting places to see and visit.

Prince Rupert, British Columbia Did not visit port

First, when I booked the cruise this was supposed to be Victoria but was switched after I bought the tickets. Wasn't really interested in visiting this site. Second, came down with covid the night before (didn't know it was covid at the time) and self isolated as much as possible to keep others from getting sick.
