Ruby Princess

Ship: Ruby Princess

Review summary

The food isn't necessarily a deal breaker for me but I do hope they are able to improve the quality. Powdered eggs in the dining room is simply unacceptable and I don't feel like anyone should have to request real eggs. At least I didn't gain any weight.

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
Overall, the food was pretty bad. I was on the Ruby in February of 2020 and it was pretty decent so I'm not sure what has happened. They actually serve powdered eggs in the dining room unless the guest specifically requests "natural eggs". Princess used to have awesome chocolate deserts but not anymore. Cakes were dry and tasted old. Several wines that we normally enjoy tasted old. One was actually tasted like vinegar. We asked the waiter about it and she admitted that they don't have a lot of wine drinkers so many of the bottles are old.

Onboard Activities

Didn't find much but we did enjoy some of the speakers.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Everyone that we encountered was very good and seemed genuinely concerned about the guest experience. Bar service was good as was the wait staff in the dining room.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Ship was clean and seems in good repair for the most part. That said, they were never able to get the AC working in our stateroom so we finally requested that they remove the comforter and just provide a light weight blanket.

Cabin / Stateroom

Clean but AC didn't work.

Ship tip

The bartender in Crooners is great!

Disembarkation

It was pretty bad but that's not really the crews fault. We were late getting into port due to a medical emergency. so all flights departing before 2PM had to be rebooked. We had a transfer and were told our luggage would be loaded onto the bus prior to our transfer but they did not do that so we had to go into the terminal and find our luggage.
