Review summary

We consider ourselves seasoned cruisers, this was #38. We are Ruby Loyalty status on Princess Lines but we have cruised NCL, RCCL (platinum) and Celebrity. The Ruby is just the right size for us. We had a wonderful relaxing cruise which was our goal. Enjoying our beautiful large balcony to eat, play cards and read was a big plus.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Awesome embarkation. I couldn’t believe how fast it went. We were in the “green lane” which meant we had everything needed on our medallion, plus we had “group A” boarding which meant our time bracket was 11:30-12:00. We were on the ship before 12:00.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We ate at the MDR every night. Our wait staff Roy and Christopher were awesome. Didn’t try the specialty restaurants but did eat at the buffet and IC, Salty Dog Grill and Cones for pizza and soft serve.

Botticelli Dining Room

5 out of 5

Beautiful Dining room and wonderful staff.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Did the origami craft class. Nice time.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
A little disappointed in the entertainment selection. Went to the theater one time and the comedian’s jokes were not good, although his juggling was pretty good. We did enjoy several of the singers and performers at the various lounges and the piazza.

Children's Programs

Did not sail with children and only saw a couple of teens on the entire ship

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
As I already stated our wait staff was awesome, our room steward was very efficient and ready to do anything extra,

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Ship was easy to get around, very similar to the Grand. Love having the medallion that would give you step by step directions to get anywhere in the ship. Also had the nice big screens by the elevators to help.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Great room. Aft balcony, deck 10, close to the elevator and stairs. Up to 15 (Lido) for buffet and down to 6 for our MDR for dinner. Room was cleans every day. Straightened up in the evening too even though we did not request it.

Ship tip

You will enjoy this ship and the crew. Yes, she has been around a few years but you can tell that she is very well maintained.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Very fast, since we did our own transportation, we were the last group to disembark and it was that fasted disembarkation we have ever had. Spotted our luggage immediately and out the terminal door.

Traveler Photos

Awesome wait staff, Roy and Christopher Our balcony Muster Station Electrical Plug / new hairdryer in top drawer Big screen TV Nice big closet and storage area Area where TV use to be was perfect to use as a storage for electronics and non surge outlet. The best bed at sea
