Review summary

A fabulous cruise but on hindsight would never have stepped on board if we'd known the outcome. Shame on Princess for keeping us in the dark.

5 out of 5
Fabulous, clean, bright balcony stateroom

Ship tip

Check there is no corinavirus on board as we were not told of positive cases until we were home. That meant we travelled 15000 miles, 25hrs flying time unaware that we could be infected. Shame on Princess and NSW Health Authorities for spoiling an otherwise fab cruise.

Disembarkation

Awful. Felt like we were being thrown off at 9am for a 5pm flight. Turned out there had been positive cases of corinavirus on board but we were all unaware during the entire cruise. We spent all day in crowded Sydney Airport before check-in even opened! After that we spent 25hrs flying to Scotland, connecting in Dubai, not knowing that we could be infecting other passengers. Didn't get home until 21st March to start 'self isolation'. A bit late Princess, don't you think!

RP82, thanks for your kind comments. 2020 seems so long ago but we will never forget 'that' cruise. We have had 5 Princess cruises since and another one booked for 2025. I guess we were unlucky but it hasn't put us off cruising! Stay safe, have fun! 😊

Wow, you were on that cruise? That was all over the news and somewhat tragic too with the Covid-19 casualties. I was on Radiance of the seas and disembarked on the 9th of February. I glad there was some type of enjoyment for you both. Thank you for your review.

Javawoody we learned, after a lengthy investigation, that Princess did no wrong... as I stated in my follow-up review 8 months ago which, maybe, you did not read? In fact we have already booked again with Princess for June 2022

Not sure what princess did wrong. Thanks for the update

Thanks all, so we finally recovered and during an investigation Princess were cleared if any blame as they were following orders from NSW Health Dept. So given that, and a refund for the basic cruise only price we will definately consider cruising with Princess again. As I said, a fab cruise was had and at least we made it home. 21 passengers lost their lives, plus another 7 who had been in close contact with some of them. 800 passengers, that we know of, tested positive! Hard lesson learned by all.... and when it's safe we will cruise again as we love it. Take care folks x

Glad you are home and you definitely should have been told they were cases on board.
