Review summary

I am a single traveler and would love to have a singles accommodation with balcony. I think with war of us becoming single if you need to think about something which is less than paying for two when we are a single.

We did the bus tour for about an hour and a half and it was not acceptable. For $60 we should’ve been able to stop and look at some things or take some pictures. Not happy with this at all.

I definitely agree with these comments re cost, but I was happy with the space in my interior cabin B225 which I occupied on my own and was delighted not to be sharing

I completely agree. I love traveling on princess but hate paying double. I’m a solo and looking to see the world and not looking for some singles cruise. I also live in a place that’s very hot and most cruise lines that do solo cabins have very few places they go that aren’t the Caribbean. I was hoping with the new princess ship that they would be more accommodating but it looks to not be the case.

@brad that sounds like a person who has never had the desire to go solo. Believe me I thought the same thing and randomly came across a single fare that I had been hearing about. They don’t advertise it which I do not get because I’m sure they sell out of them rather quickly so it’s guaranteed money. I would do 3 cruises a year if more ships had solo cruising. @irabe I really feel for you. I would divorce him and get a different model (truly a joke). Your friends are wonderful but I’m sure it’s somewhat awkward for everyone you being there. It stinks too because usually when a single traveler or solo traveler is searched it’s usually a dating cruise (which I am NOT looking for) or ones that do not really go places good or smaller ships. I have stayed in hostels as a single person but it’s a little different and I’m sure most people wouldn’t be happy with that. I would do a owners suite with multiple people not knowing anyone. It seems like it would be plenty of room. I wonder if a ship with even half solo cabins is even thought about. I wouldn’t mind paying more but not DOUBLE! And I would get the drink package so they will be making their money! How can we get this to be a thing?

Some of Norwegian, Royal Caribbean and Holland America ships have solo cabins. They aren’t the normal double occupancy charge but they are still expensive. I completely agree with you and I wish Princess would get on board for solo cabins. There are so many single travelers or solo travelers that can’t afford the double occupancy fee. I’m married but my husband will only go on 7 day cruises for now but I still want to cruise, and he doesn’t mind if I travel solo. I don’t have girlfriends that can travel without their significant others so that makes traveling with a friend more difficult. October I’m going on the Star with my best girlfriend and her hubby on a 15 day Hawaiian cruise. We took the total of the cruise and divided by 3, ultimately it came out to a good price for all of us since the 3rd and 4th passenger fairs are so cheap. But I certainly can’t expect to go on all their cruises. My dream is Europe but I can’t justify paying double occupancy for one person. Let’s keep our fingers crossed more cruise lines will think about Solo travelers when they build new ships or do renovations.

Rooms on any cruise line is based on double occupancy. Nature of the beast.
