Review summary

This was our first cruise and we had so much FUN!  The trip started out slightly rocky with a 3 hour delay in getting out of San Pedro harbor.  Something about an inspection.  Anyway, after we finally got going, the fun began.  We booked an interior room because we had heard that we wouldn't spend much time in the room with all the activities going on.  That was mostly true.  Although, there were a few afternoon naps taken :)  Day 1 we explored the ship, tried to get familiar with where everything was, played a round of mini golf on the sports deck, and explored our food options.  Day 2 we found the casino (I won $3,000!) and the Terrace pool at the back of the ship (a great place to go lay in the sun without the loud music and party atmosphere at the 2 main deck pools).  Day 3 we ported at Puerto Vallarta where we booked a private fishing excursion and had fun bringing in a few huge skipjack.  The weather was beautiful and our fishing guides were amazing.  Day 4 was Mazatlan.  We didn't have anything planned here so we decided to walk off some of the food we'd been eating.  We followed the blue line about half an hour to the cathedral and the market.  The market sales people were TERRIBLE!!  They were pushy and grabby and finally had to get rude with a woman who kept grabbing my arm and forcing her merchandise on me.  After leaving, we continued walking to watch the cliff divers.  That was cool to see.  Then we took a cab for $7 back to the ship.  Overall it was fine but the market really turned me off.  Day 5 was Cabo San Lucas where we did some 4-wheeling with Wild Canyon Adventures.  That was a blast!  Day 6 took us home and back to the cold, winter weather.  The buffet was very average and they served the same thing everyday.  However, the sit down dinner in the Boticelli dining room each night was wonderful.  Our waiter was Galdino who was incredibly professional and friendly.  He was my favorite person on board, by far!!  Great service, great food, super nice company at our table for 6.  There were plenty of activities from Bingo, karaoke, the casino, pool parties, dance lessons, etc. to keep us busy at any time night or day.  The sound quality of the Movie Under the Stars was pretty poor.  We watched a whole movie trying to read lips to follow it.  After that, we skipped any future movies.  It was challenging trying to understand some of the staff with all of their accents and there were some language barriers.  Even the Captain.  I couldn't understand a lot of his announcements.  My hubby and I just figured that if it was important, someone would let us know! :)  Overall, it was a great time with so much food, warm sun, nice people, fun activities, and helpful staff.

Very tiny room and we said, "excuse me" a lot as we tried to navigate around each other. But the bed was INCREDIBLY comfortable, the room was clean, and our steward, Marlon, was very friendly and helpful.

Ship tip

If you want to relax without all the party noise, go to the Terrace Pool at the back of the ship.
