Royal Princess Review by Cruiser897

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

My husband and I cruised on Princess Cruises once before and were really doubtful about taking  another Princess Cruise, however, we are happy we did.  The ship is absolutely beautiful, easy to get around on, unlike the first Princess ship we cruised on, the food was great, especially the baked Alaska, and every staff member we saw or dealt with was friendly and eager to help.  Our dining experience was so much fun we never missed dinner no matter how tired we were from our tours ashore.  We loved the International Cafe.  The sandwiches were awesome and so were the donuts and tiny desserts...what a treat.  Our bed was a little hard but our shore tours tired us out so much we actually slept pretty well.  All and all, it was an excellent cruise and we will cruise Princess again.

10 night Eastern Carribean Cruise by tomandee

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Really enjoyed the cruise and the service to our cabin & dining room.  We did feel that they try to nichel and dime you way too much.  WiFi should be available to all guests and photo's and drinks cost an arm and a leg.  Spa treatments also are way over changed for what you can get on dry land. Would look for a cruise with more benefits and add-ons next time.

Very nice cruise by srkrank

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Not much to complain about. The room (mini-suite) was nice and a good value. Great selection of movies on in room tvs.

Food was about average for a cruise.

Service was outstanding.

Entertainment was good but venues were very small and finding a seat for the main shows was very difficult.

Ship was not as well appointed as I would have thought it should be. It was very pretty but no wow factor.

Elevators were a nightmare. Very slow and very crowded.

Ports visited were very nice. The private island I could have done without.

All in all we really enjoyed ourselves the cruise and a very good value.

Honeymoon Cruise by ajdyer

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

My husband and I took this cruise for our honeymoon. I've cruised with Princess before whereas this was his first cruise. Everything was amazing, just like always. We did encounter some rough seas, but the captain handled it as well as he could have including updating us on weather conditions along the way. Our only 2 complaints were that it took forever to get drinks during dinner in the dining room and at breakfast or lunch in the horizon court. We would order drinks as soon as we sat down and not receive them until we were near finished eating in the horizon court or through our first course at dinner. We ordered coffee every night for dessert and quite often ordered, received, and nearly finished our dessert before the coffee arrived. I have never experienced this before on a Princess cruise  the second complaint is that almost every dinner entree option had an asian-type soy sauce sort of marinade. It was the same sauce with almost every entree from the prime rib, to the duck, and even on the veal parmesan my husband ordered. It often was unfitting to the entree (as with the veal parmesan) and not everyone enjoys this type of flavor. I was not a fan. Princess has always been known for their exquisite food and I would hate to see them lose this reputation.

All in all I would definitely continue to recommend Princess cruises to all my friends.

10 days-So Carib-very nice. Royal Princess is modern, clean, nicely appointed. Food was good but not exceptional. Cabin small but adequate for single. Some Capt Circle Elite issues.

Royal Princess Cruise Eastern Caribbean Voyager by turkeypb

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The Royal is a beautiful ship and the staff of Princess are energetic and friendly.

Food was good whether you ate at the buffet, outside grill or in the symphony dining room.  On the formal nights, the food is a little more upscale in the dining room, which is always nice. Our mini suite balcony stateroom was quite big, however, the balcony was smaller than other Princess ships. 10 days in the Caribbean was a little long and the islands were okay.  We took an excursion from St. Thomas over to St Johns, which was the most beautiful island on this trip. Would have liked to stay more on this island.  For 10 days on a ship, I would prefer Alaska again or the Panama Canal again.

Overall, I'm glad we went as we were with 3 other couples whom we met last year on the Panama Canal trip thru Princess.

Our Eastern Caribbean Voyager Cruise Review by lmgq

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our Cruise on the Royal Princess and we truly came back refreshed and renewed just as Princess says. Our stateroom was great and the entire staff we came into contact with was exceptional. We were disappointed that we did not stop at St. Kitts or Princess Cays. Entertainment, food and fellowship which we experience on board was wonderful.

Great Itineray by lvickinovac

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The food, service and entertainment was awesome. This was our fourth time on the Royal Princess. We enjoyed our table mates.

We had the misfortune of purchasing a balcony at the very back of the ship. We had large amounts of thick black soot on the balcony, furniture and railings each day. We were unable to use it before cleaning it with wash clothes. My clothes got ruined as I sat on the chair before realizes how black it was.

I do not recommend any rooms in the back of the ship. All rooms back there had the same issue! We were moved to another room with a much smaller balcony after the fifth day.

beautiful ship by rheuvelink

we always go with Princess and as usual the experience was fantastic.  The ship is beautiful the staff is courteous and efficient.  The only drawback is that I would have liked to have gone stopped at St Marten  but just staying on the ship was a great experience.  The island stop in the Bahamas was beautifulHappy

Lotus Spa by judgemike

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The massage I had was average, but the experience after the massage was a high pressure sales tactic for way, overpriced amenities.

It was obnoxious and ruined the experience.

Review of royal Princess by rnbecker

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Caribbean

The cruise ship is beautiful.  Two problems I have with it are:  There are no stairs at mid ship.  The only stairs are forward and aft.  We like to walk the stairs and it was inconvenient to walk from mid ship the length of the ship to use the stairs.  Also, most cruise ships we have been on, deck 7 completely circles the ship for walking.  Not on this ship.  The only walking area is on deck 17, it take 7 laps to equal a mile and it is terribly windy.

Great fun in the Sun by BobP2000

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We just got back from an amazing trip on the Royal Princess.  The ship is great in most every way.  I was worried by some negative comments by other reviewers, but, thankfully, we loved the Royal Princess and the crew.  The changes to the layout are very nice.  We love the changes to the Piaza Atrium.  It's a better space for dancing and parties.  All in all there are a lot of improvements!  I don't understand complaints about the grand staircase.  There are 2 grand stairs now that are more usable than the old single one.  The elevators worked great, too.

The food in the dining rooms was excellent.

Great job, Princess!  We put a deposit down for a future cruise! Happy

Wonderful Experience by jdroke

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Our recent cruise on the Royal Princess was beyond any doubt the best cruise we have taken so far.  The Royal Princess is an amazing ship with crew to match.  Not once did we have an unsatisfactory experience during our cruise.  We commented more the once how willing everyone on the staff was to help us with anything we needed.  We could not have asked for more as the staff could not have been any more accommodating.  With activities, entertainment, the marvelous ports of call, and, of course, the food, we had everything we could possibly need for our ten days of pure bliss. What a marvelous concept of seeing the world while the "hotel" goes with you and what a perfect way to see the world with Princess Cruise Lines and especially with the Royal Princess.

Loved our experience of traveling on the Royal Princess to the Caribbean. by ghansen11

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Caribbean

The ship was beautiful and spotless, the crew were terrific.  The food was the best we've ever tasted.  The cabin space was excellent and our room steward was the most professional in 15 years of cruising.  You have not lived until you've watched movies under the stars!  They even cover you with a blanket.  The only negative was the size of the ship.  There were long lines at times because of this.  We prefer the Pacific Princess which only carries a bit over 600 passengers.  We will sail with Princess again, but likely not on such a large ship.

Great 1st Cruise by timjb323

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Really enjoyed my first cruise, even though my wife got the stomach flu the 1st night. After she was feeling better, we took in the nightly show right after the early dining option.

Enjoyed the shore visits, but didn't take real advantage of truly visiting the island... Next time.

Very relaxing journey by pepper1up

You can make all your choices about if you want to be very active or very relaxed. I just wish all the drinks were included.  It was a pain to give your card then have to wait for it to be returned and was even forgotten.

This was our first of many cruises and with the help of Cruise.com we never missed a beat ! Armed with all the information we needed to make this one of the most memorable vacations ever. Our agent (Nicole Thurman) always had the answers to even the most mundane questions, thanks for your patience. I would highly recommend Cruise.com to assist you with your next cruise, you can shop around all you like but at the end of the day return to the true cruise professionals you will not be disappointed.

Great time by rhodge10

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The cruise was great and very relaxing just what we needed.  Everyone was kind and helpful.  Just have one complaint we gave Princess a new credit card for the cruise when we checked in and asked them not to charge on the card we put the deposit on.  Well guess what they did they charged half of our cruise on one card and the other on the one we asked them not to charge.  So I would say if you don't want two credit cards used just give them one only.

Not as advertised. by Cruiser388

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple

Entire time in cabin was awful, seeing but a lifeboat when we were told we would only see it below while standing at balcony railing.  Did not use that awful so  called balcony a single time.  Miserable.
