Review summary

Our recent cruise on the Royal Princess was beyond any doubt the best cruise we have taken so far.  The Royal Princess is an amazing ship with crew to match.  Not once did we have an unsatisfactory experience during our cruise.  We commented more the once how willing everyone on the staff was to help us with anything we needed.  We could not have asked for more as the staff could not have been any more accommodating.  With activities, entertainment, the marvelous ports of call, and, of course, the food, we had everything we could possibly need for our ten days of pure bliss. What a marvelous concept of seeing the world while the "hotel" goes with you and what a perfect way to see the world with Princess Cruise Lines and especially with the Royal Princess.

Cabin / Stateroom

A deluxe cabin is perfect for two or three with a small child as it offers a two seat sofa that makes into a sleeper and, as in our case, a pull down from the ceiling which is also a bed. The problem with either of those options is the difficulty they cause in accessing the balcony while the beds are extended. The rooms in the middle of the boat are more "stable" as the do not move as much in rough seas as the fore and aft rooms tend to do. We have found the standard cabin, the deluxe balcony and the mini suites to be very comfortable and accommodating.

Ship tip

Our recommendation is to get a cabin on either decks 13, 14 or 15 as this allows easy use of the stairs to come into use during the busy parts of the day when elevators are hard to come by. The buffet as well as the pool are on deck 16 which at times may cause a wait for the elevator.
