Review summary

I don't think we're Princess cruise people. We did not enjoy the experience. For us, 7 days was too long to be trapped on the ship. The poor quality app was so frustrating. We were often confused on what to expect. I constantly felt like the team was shocked with how many people there were.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Food was all fine. Honestly buffet was as good as the main dining rooms.

Onboard Activities

Minimal activities appropriate for our family of 3 with a small child that weren't either weirdly scheduled or super busy

I’ve never felt “trapped” on a cruise and mine range from 10 to 14 days, 7 is never enough. Princess has a dedicated following, typically an older crowd (like myself), that doesn’t need an amusement park on board to have a great and relaxing cruise. Two more Princess cruises between now and October. They do a great job for us.

Maybe cruising isn't for you, cause I have not yet been on a cruise I didn't enjoy. True, there are days where there are either more or less activities I like to do, but there is always something for everyone. Regardless of destination or too many sea days, I make the best of all my cruises, since it would truly be a waste of money to just be miserable on ship when you don't have to be.

Most people know Princess is set up for more experienced cruiser (retired people). It really pays to do some homework before setting cash down on a cruise. Maybe Disney or even NCL will have more activities for the younger ones

Cruising is not for everyone. I love being “trapped” on a ship but some people don’t. I also study up on the ship, ports, etc so I know what to expect. Ships typically sail full and they can’t really be over capacity so, no the staff was not surprised by the number of guests on your ship. Glad you tried and hope you enjoy your next vacation
