Review summary

Other than the end of the cruise after catching COVID and their terrible handling of our disembarkation, the cruise was wonderful. NOTE: the 10 night LAND portion FAR EXCEEDED our expectations and was truly AMAZING!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Easy Peezy as we came straight from a 10 night Princess Land portion!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
My first "Non Royal" cruise, I was disappointed....the design, especially of the buffet and the location of the pizza & burgers outside at the end of the ship was WAY inconvenient, ESPECIALLY in Alaska and MORE especially on rainy days! The ship felt a bit dated, though our suite was WONDERFUL!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
I mean, it was Alaska, so the ship had to take "second place" to the ports!

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Wasn't as "big" as Royal, though the comedian was hilarious!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Wonderful, no complaints at all. The Suite staff was especially nice!

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Again, I prefer Royal's larger ships. The "flow" on those just seemed better than this ship

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our first full Suite, it was TREMENDOUS!

Ship tip

The Unlimited Dining package wasn't worth it!

Ports of call

Cruise Hubbard Glacier

5 out of 5
DEF do the small ship excursion that gets you close to the glacier....yes, expensive, but one of the highlights of the cruise

Cruise Glacier Bay

2 out of 5
The ship didn't even sail down one of the fiords.....no matter what the Captain said, we all felt it was because there was a Holland ship down there already!

Skagway, Alaska

5 out of 5
Train was amazing, town was cute!

Juneau, Alaska

5 out of 5
We took the bus to Mendanhall (appx $50 per person round trip) stopped by the Visitor's Center for a short film, and then walked the path to Nugget Falls. Another highlight of the trip!

Victoria, British Columbia Did not visit port

rough waters made the ship skip this port

Vancouver (Canada Place), British Columbia Did not visit port

Caught COVID the last day on the ship so we had to bus to Seattle with other positives to isolate for 5 days

Disembarkation

1 out of 5
They handled the disembarkation of the COVID passengers as if they had NO idea what they were doing!

Can’t blame the ship, that was the US government that forced you to not fly out of Vancouver. Same thing happened to us on our 14 day on Holland ending 5 June, did not know we had Covid until we hit the airport testing. So many cruisers tested positive that it took three days to catch the bus. At least that fiasco expired.
