Review summary

This was our ninth Princess cruise and our. Second time to Alaska. Overall, we were a little disappointed in the food and some of the other services such as WI FI We didn’t complain but wondered why the music played in the Piazza (deck 5) was so ear splitting loud while we were trying to enjoy a cup of coffee

Embarkation

1 out of 5
Total Chaos. Princess had a computer problem virtually stopping registering. They never made any announcement. We are Platinum and we’re never directed to the appropriate lines

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
They were good but not great. We felt like the buffet was catering more toward Asian food. The main dining rooms were good but a few little things were missing

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We are a bit too old for much activity but we really enjoyed the movies and daily games

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Very good We paid extra for Wi-Fi and it was terrible

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Great service. The staff did all they could to satisfy our requests. The room steward was great

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Seemed like the same quality of cleanliness as our 8 previous cruises

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
A little small but comfortable. The TV lost signal frequently but we assumed that was because of our far north location

I will agree with you about music volume in the piazza. I have been on 5 PCL cruises this year, and everyone of those cruises seemed to have music aimed at the hearing impaired. The piazza is suppose to be a relaxing place to have coffee, wine, or some snack food item from International Cafe, but even time they had any person/group playing there, it was too loud, except for the string quartets.
