Review summary

Enjoyed the cruise. Would not have booked except for the fact we had to use a refund by the end of the year. We were quite concerned about COVID, but it did not seem to be a big problem on the cruise.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
Very congested at Vancouver port. Lines not well marked for Platinum/Elite.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Food was good, but not exceptional. Lobster was just OK. Crab risotto had very little crab. Some of the standard choices were not so appealing in the Lido. Cuisine was more English/Scottish than Alaskan.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Because of lack of masking, we did not participate in much - theater very crowded - did not go. The Naturalist, Dr Raincock was EXCELLENT. Loved his talks and meeting with him on 16 Aft, Also the Itidarod speaker was very good.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Liked the comedian - stood in back. Did not go to other shows. Some not too interesting.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our Steward Gerard C227 was excellent. Very friendly and capable. Great job! Our waiter at 5pm Allegro was also very good and fun and efficient. Table 453?

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Very disappointed in Mandatory mask compliance. Why was it not enforced better??

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Very Satisfied.

Ship tip

Do not expect mask compliance, if it is still mandatory.

Thank you for sharing. Each guest is now supposed to protect themselves as they see fit. Some are fearful, some fearless.

As far as I know the mandatory mask mandate was dropped sometime in February of this year. It was not required but recommended.
