Review summary

Except for the Lanai Room issue, our cruise was a welcome respite from the cold winter of Upstate New York. Wish we were back on one of those islands!

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Not as smooth as we've experienced before, but had never gone out of Tampa either.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Mostly all excellent. The meal we had in the Pinnacle Grill was disappointing for the first time ever.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Loved the BBC Planet Earth series. Hope they have more in the series next year. Also did a lot of exercising in the Lido Deck Pool

Entertainment

We rarely went to stage shows. What we did see were not ship's performances, but entertainers hired from other venues.

Children's Programs

No kids with us.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone, always above and beyond.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Needs a lot of TLC.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Size was a little meager to house both a walker and a scooter. The scooter our stewards took for us overnight and plugged it in elsewhere, and returned it to us each morning. We had major difficulty with our Lanai Room deck door. The fare for this cabin should be reduced until either the door is completely replaced, or it is repaired satisfactorily.

Ship tip

Enjoy the Crow's Nest and the Deck 3 Lower Promenade walking deck. Also Happy Hour every day at 4 p.m. in several of the ship's bars.

Ports of call

Tampa, Florida

3 out of 5
Not as efficient as Fort Lauderdale. We did not do an excursion.

Key West, Florida

5 out of 5
Always love Key West. I visited the Butterfly Conservatory and the Aquarium on a ship-sponsored excursion.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

5 out of 5
Beautiful island!

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

5 out of 5
St. Thomas is gorgeous, but we did not do much there as we were docked so far away from the main business area.

St. John's, Antigua

4 out of 5

Castries, St. Lucia

5 out of 5

Soufriere, St. Lucia

5 out of 5
Lovely cruising in Soufriere Bay!

Willemstad, Curacao

5 out of 5
Curacao remains one of my favorite ports. The walking bridge had to be lifted several times on the day we visited, and we enjoyed the spectacle.

Oranjestad, Aruba

4 out of 5
Also docked quite a way from anything. Fortunately, I used to my scooter to get around and was able to get to some very scenic places.

George Town, Grand Cayman Did not visit port

We were not able to tender at this port because of the roughness of the water.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Could have gone more smoothly.

Thanks for sharing your cruise.

My lanai door was fog like two years ago. My biggest complaint was having to ask people to not sit in my lanai loungers. Several people refused to leave even after I called the front desk. They gave me a credit but I would never get another Lanai room.

Can you please elaborate on the issues with your Lanai cabin? We’ve considered that type cabin but have never stayed in one. TIA.
