Review summary

We have waited some time to take the cruise of our lifetime and we did a considerable amount of research prior to booking this cruise with Oceana.

The ports of call allowed easy access to some of the world's greatest treasures. Our tour of Pompei and Herculean were absolutely enlightening and tour guides were fabulous. The dress code was easily met with country club attire for the folks that do not care to eat in full formal dress. The restaurants were gorgeous and the food gourmet and delishous. All food, even the name restaurants, were included and with no extra charge. The O'life program makes tours free or less pricey, the Internet was free and gratuities were prepaid. All of this and no surprise charges!

Oceana is an excellent  choice for luxury cruises!

There are better cruises for children's entertainment. The children aboard were older children or very young children with their parents.

Cabin / Stateroom

Our stateroom was very clean and comfortable. The bedding was as comfortable as at the finest hotels. The bathroom included a bath tub and shower with a rain shower available. Oceana has thought of every comfort for the traveler. Our housekeeper was the best and very much enjoyed her job. In fact, all staff was very happy with their positions and their jobs.

Ship tip

I left the curtains open very slightly so I would awaken as we pulled into a new port. It was just at daybreak when we arrived to port. Beautiful!

Be sure to take a trip inland to enjoy the vineyards and beautiful landscape. We visited St. Remy, the home of Nostradamus and the inspiration for the paintings Van Gogh.
