Review summary

I would highly recommend going on this itinerary. It had the best cruise destinations we've ever been on.

Schooner Bar

Good place to hang and relax. It's small so it fills up fast though.

Viking Crown Lounge

Great views even when the bar wasn't open. Does get crowded after 11pm

Chop's Grille

5 out of 5

The best steak I've had in years, not to mention the window view at sunset. Amazing

Solarium

Nice and quiet. This is where we would head for a cocktail to get away from the crowd near the pool. It is humid in there though.

Venice, Italy

We stayed 2 nights in Venice before our cruise. We booked the Hop on Hop Off water taxi. We really could of just paid for the water bus, but I had no idea. Lots and lots of walking. I loved our hotel (The Carlton on the Grand Canal) The location was perfect. The water taxi's and gondola's stop right in front of it. I would advice upgrading your room from the lowest category. Although very beautiful and venetian, it was VERY small. Roof top dining was a great place to watch everything happening on the Grand Canal.

We didn't book any excursions here. We took the advice of one of the wait staff and went to the village and walked around, ate great food...the bay itself is absolutely gorgeous. Lots of history. Loved it.

Corfu, Greece

We did book the Hop on Hop off bus here and I'm glad we did. Some of the most beautiful spots we could not of walked to.

Piraeus (Athens), Greece

I was prepared for Athens being crowded. We booked the Hop on Hop Off bus tour here. Took it to the Parthenon and Acropolis. I would advice purchasing your tickets in advance. The lines were very long and it was very hot and humid. We also ran out of Euro's and no one would take a credit card or American money at any of the tourist shops or even downtown. We got very thirsty. I also didn't realize we would be going on a 4 lane freeway. It was very windy on the upper level of the bus. Athens has a LOT of traffic and a lot of graffiti. I read this earlier so I was prepared. It's a big city! Make sure you leave yourself plenty of time to get back to the ship.

Mykonos, Greece

It was amazing! Very windy, which I guess is normal. ?? Get up and get exploring early. There were 3 other ships that came in and the tiny streets filled up. You can walk to the windmills...we had the best grilled octopus EVER!

Argostoli, Kefalonia, Greece

I'd never even heard of Argostoli...it was the most beautiful destination. VERY calm waters with giant turtles hanging around the waterfront. The people were SO nice. Very relaxing. Again, we walked everywhere. We did take a little "train" ride around the city for 3.5 euros. Eh. ;-)
