Review summary

Really enjoyed our cruise - the Rhapsody of the Seas is a smaller ship, ~2000 guests, which made it a wonderful experience. While the ship could have had a smidge more shops or slightly larger showers in interior cabins, we wouldn't have changed much else. The staff were incredibly friendly, the ship was very comfortable and the itinerary was great. The only thing that could have been better on itinerary was an extended day or overnight in Santorini (maybe skip Crete?). Really a fun cruise and one I would recommend for anyone looking for an intro trip to Greece.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

They tried hard on the Gluten Free needs and we were pleased they had them, although hope for some improvements in availability in the future.

Onboard Activities

The showers are small in this room type, not sure if they would have been bigger in another room type, but that was our largest disappointment. Other than that, not having a window actually turned out to be a blessing - very sound sleep without daylight. The beds were comfortable and for two people there was plenty of room, luggage (Carry on) fit in the closet and there was a nice little sofa in the room. Lots of tucked away storage as well.

Ports of call

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy Did not visit port

This is just a port, but it was a HIKE from the train to the boat that we were glad we didn't take. A taxi van was there and we were able to get in on a group drop off for 5 Euro a person... totally worth it.

Chania, Crete

Mykonos, Greece

If you aren't a party person, I would say skip the beach here, it was quite small and wasn't all that special to be honest (Paradise beach). The town was more enjoyable to us.

Kusadasi (Ephesus), Turkey

A private tour was the way to go for us, well worth it, all the way up into Ephesus and a small mountain town with really good shopping.

Santorini, Greece

Try Lolita's gelato in Oia! Very tasty...and get off the boat early. The cable cars have limits on how many people can get up and down in an hour.

Piraeus (Athens), Greece

Katakolon (Olympia), Greece

This was one of our favorite stops, without ever going into Olympia! Use the little tourist train for 6 Euro and get taken to a LOVELY beach with a great hotel/restaurant and enjoy the gorgeous water. The town (Katakolon) also had really great shopping!

Yes they have hairdryers in all the staterooms. Have a great cruise. Rhapsody is my favourite ship.
