Review summary

Rhapsody of the Seas is very old and the entertainment and food options were extremely lack luster. This was my first experience with Royal Caribbean and I have heard amazing things about them but I was very disappointed. I traveled with a group of 15 and 12 others have been on Royal Caribbean before and they said this was the worst ship, food, and shows they have experienced.

The interior cabin was a great size in comparison to others on different ships. However the bathroom was extremely tiny and unless your really small the shower barely fits a human.

I suggest that you book your next cruise on a newer ship.  You will probably be happier.

Thank you rendezvoussam, the age of the ship has nothing to do with the poor food and entertainment. Broadway Theaters are old and they still have great shows.

Regardless the age of the ship, you paid your money you expect a reasonable standard and service...clearly by the comments this ship is crying out for update/refitting!

You didn't know before booking that the vessel was 18 years old? It began sailing in 1997 and since then has accommodated over 2,246,400 passengers so you would have to expect that even with constant maintenance, the ship will be a bit beat up. Vessel age is one of the first things I consider before booking a cruise. If I book on an older ship, I expect it to be aged so I can't complain about it post cruise.
