Great small ship experience. Want dearly to use Oceania in the future if dinner hours were changed

Excellent. Totally seamless.

Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The food was excellent. Almost always met expectations. Creative and well prepared.
Here is the caveat. We ate dinner mostly in the buffet as dinner in the dining room and specialty restaurants started at 6:30 pm and were two hours long. Just too much for early risers and early bedders. Health wise we like at least two hours post dining before sleep.
Just wish everything shifted to 5:30 pm.
Granted, we seem to be in the minority on this issue.
Onboard Activities

Very little to do. Hardly any lecturers. No port lectures. Strange for an Alaskan cruise. Nothing very creative.
I like to read and am learning Spanish so it was fine for me.
Entertainment

Never went to a show. All started at 9:30 pm. Too late.
String quartet played throughout the cruise. It was fine.
Service and Staff

Never a doubt this was cruise strength. Wonderful staff everywhere.
Ship Quality

Beautiful small ship. Super clean. Well appointed. Nearly everything within two decks of our Deck 7 room.
Cabin / Stateroom

Perfect. Steward excellent. Loved water supply.
Ship tip
It is great small ship experience. Lovely ship and great crew. I would remind them that if you can’t or chose not to do late dinners, this is not the cruise line to take. Also the lack of enrichment speakers is noticeable.
Took the ship transfer to airport. They did not order enough buses so we waited for them to sort that out. Also it was half the price to take a taxi to the airport, with many available (per friend that used the service)
Thanks for your review. We too are 5:00pm diners but during our Alaskan Regatta (first ever cruise) cruise we embraced 4:00pm afternoon tea, dinner at 7pm, every show but two at 9:30pm and bedtime at 11:00pm. (When in Rome…) we loved it all.
We take our second cruise on the Vista in 29 days. I told my husband “now remember we will have to shift our schedule on the cruse”, not to mention Europeans eat later. We hope to enjoy every minute!
