Review summary

Oceania delivered on an excellent, unforgettable cruise. Being a smaller sized ship, the Regatta was much more comfortable and no doubt allowed access to interesting smaller ports where the leviathans can't go. The cuisine was sublime. The only word to describe the Toscana restaurant is mmmmm. Crew and service were top notch. Special compliments to our concierge stewardess Rena. The ship and cabin were clean and comfortable. The six excursions were well worthwhile. Overall, luxurious comfort and a lot of fun.

Clean, well kept and well designed.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Cabin, with balcony, was perfect. Very clean and tidy, with comfortable bed, and the living space and balcony were big enough to enjoy. Bathroom was a bit tight, but understandable for onboard a ship.

Ship tip

Concierge level is worth it.

Amazing scenery and excellent commentary while cruising the sound. Fortunate to be the first ship to enter the sound in many days.

Beautiful. Fox II sailing excursion was the best. Dolphins, penguins, seals and much much more to see, and commentary by Captain Ray was excellent. Well worth it.

Wellington, New Zealand

Nice visit to NZ capital. Cable car ride up to the Botanical Gardens is a must, as is a visit to the museum and a stroll around downtown and along the waterfront.

Napier, New Zealand

Picturesque quaint little French quarter. Lovely seaside town.

Gisborne, New Zealand

Steam train ride to see Maori dancing was great, and the local museum and gallery is surprisingly good for such a small community. Very friendly, hospitable and interesting Maori locals.

Tauranga, New Zealand Did not visit port

Excellent way to end the cruise with a mud bath at Hells Gate, Rotorua

Auckland, New Zealand
