The cruise was great! The service on board was outstanding. It was such a pleasure to unpack once for two weeks, never having to hunt down a good restaurant, and always being near our cabin. We had a great time and are already looking forward to the next time. I think I would only take small tours and the 40+ people on the tours meant we were often rushed or waiting on someone.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
My travel partner has to walk with canes. We were whisked through the embarkation process so she didn't have to stand and wait. It was a nice service for us.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
We ate in two of the main dining rooms, one specialty restaurant, the buffet and the pizza parlor. The restaurants had 5 star service. I felt so spoiled! The menu selection was good and the food was excellent. The buffet food had a good variety and was always delicious.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
The "get to know the senior officers" was fun. I attended that both times it was offered. Bingo was too expensive. I can't say enough good thing about Ken's destination talks. Very informative and entertaining.
Entertainment
2 out of 5
I was disappointed in the evening entertainment. Not very professional.
Children's Programs
Didn't have children with us.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Our room steward was amazing. Joel made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Our cabin was kept very clean and neat. Waiters were attentive most of the time. Occasionally I went to the bar to order my own drink.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Except for the "hidden" restaurant on deck 6 the layout was good and easy to get around. The laundromat was very clean and everything worked well.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
The cabin was good. In fact it was bigger than the hotel room we had in Barcelona. Our only complaint was that the shower didn't drain properly flooding the bathroom when we took showers. We used the extra towels to mop up and Joel never complained about the mess. The cabin was always clean.
Took an excursion for the Blue Mosque, St. Sophia and the Grand Bazar. Although the ship did tell us the Blue Mosque was being renovated, I didn't realize there would be nothing to see. The entire mosque was draped in drop cloth. I wish this excursion had been cancelled or at least changed to not include the Blue Mosque.
Did not visit this port from the ship. We had arranged a hotel and stayed three days in Barcelona. The Sacred Family church is a must see. It's amazing!
Thanks for your review. Such a nice itinerary. What’s not to like? Re: your shower drain: next time contact Guest Services and they’ll have maintenance fix it. Had a similar problem on the Regal and the drain was fixed within an hour.
