Review summary
This was our first cruise with Princess. It was wonderful. Can't understand why so many people complain about little things. If you are going to be with 3000 other people, you should realize you may have to get in a line now and then. The food in the dining room was outstanding. We also tried Alfredo's and the steak place, and both were great. We loved the Captain. He kept everyone informed on where we were and what was going on. When we were leaving Newport there was a wedding taking place on shore. He played the Love Boat song and everyone loved it. The people at the wedding were recording the ship and the people on the ship were recording the wedding. What a nice surprise for some young couple.
The ship is beautiful, modern and artistic .The only negative thing I have to say, has been said before. The layout involving a stairway just ending is beyond my comprehension. I worked at an engineering school for 30 years and can assure you not one of our students would have made this mistake. Can't imagine how it got by so many experts. I also agree with the other comments they need more elevators. The passengers on a trip like this are going to be a little older and can't/don't want to walk up and down stairs all the time. Not sure why they build a ship like this to be used in cold climates. Many square feet could have been utilized on the top by closing it in.

Ship tip
We made our dining reservation for the specialty restaurant as we were boarding. It is much easier to get an early dining time. My advise is "go early" to wherever you have to be.
