Enjoyed Our Cruise by azlisa66

Sail date: /
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: South Pacific - Australia

Although overall we had a very enjoyable cruise experience, we've cruised with several other cruise lines in the past and felt that out of all the cruise lines we've experienced, Royal Caribbean was our least favorite in terms of best value for our money.

Worst Cruise Yet by paidinfull4u

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: South Pacific - Australia

Didn't recognize our 23rd anniversary even though we reminded head waiter and waiter. Dinner service was initially poor until we switched tables. Paid $179 to use Thermal Suite but steam room and aromatherapy room broken and although we paid extras, it seamed like everyone else on the ship used the room. Ship was full of drinkers and drinking kids so security was busy. Couldn't use our balcony because all our neighbors smoked and when we opened door smoke rolled into our room.

great cruise! by ConnieS4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

The ship was very nice. Apparently most of the rooms had been updated recently, but they were still in the process. Ours was not yet done. The service attendants were all great and very accommodating. Food was delicious, especially in the specialty restaurants.

Would recommend this cruise, we did Christmas New Year, what a fantastic way to see in a new year! Was our first cruise and we are now cruise addicts thanks to the wonderful experience on Royal Carribean.

I loved the beauty of the ship, the quality of services rendered by the crew and the attentiveness to every detail. The friendly atmosphere was the greatest treat of all.

Have cruised a number of times. Industry seems to be on downslide.

Great time for a great price by shipmatemike

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We did this quick 5 night getaway out of Tampa in 2011. The ship is a little older and smaller than the new vessels, but has some nice character.

The staff was great and there was plenty to do around the ship. We'd definitely do the Radiance again.

It was WONDERFUL - Highly Recommend by jrmckee

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship was beautiful and had something for everyone. Take some time early on to learn the "lay of the land" and then enjoy. You can always find a private quiet area or a noisy crazy fun area whatever time of the day. It really can meet anyones needs regardless of age or traveling as a romantic couple or a family. We met many people that had been on this exact cruise multiple times and I can understand why - great 4 days that feels like more!

My 6th Royal Caribbean cruise by JeannieF

Sail date: /
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Ship was very nice, clean, huge public areas. It seemed as if we were always waiting on elevators. I took 2 first-timers with me, who were supposed to receive $25 onboard spending, but did not. That was disappointing for me, since I had bragged on Royal's service for months, but we still had a great time.

Cruising Experiance by Tara

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Mexico

I have cruised several times in the past and this was not my first trip with Royal Carribean. It was very convenient boarding and a buffet was waiting when we got on. The boat didn't leave until 3am when it was supposed to leave at 5pm so I was disappointed by that. That food was great and so was the service. We had an ocean view room but it smelled like sever. Everything was great till the last night when we were treated very rudely by the bartender at the club. He overcharged us and when I asked why I had been overcharged $20 for a beer, he told me to bad. I was very disappointed.

Beware of plumbing problems by AmyM9

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

When we booked this cruise for a family celebrations that included 15 people, we read the reviews. Plumbing problems were noted but we figured that Royal Caribbean would have had to have addressed these issues so we didnt' pay too much attention. We were WRONG! After the second night my parents room on the 8th deck developed a large wet spot in the middle of their stateroom. A towel was put over it to reveal dark brown stains. The smell permeated the room throughout the trip, although blowers were brought in each day to dry up the spot - feels and smells like plumbing problems. My cousins on the 9th deck had a similar odor in their room. Every night there were restrooms by the main dining room and outside the theater which had at least one stall unavailable to use - this is very disconcerting. As a group of 15, we had a good trip. I would recommend the Voyage of the Seas or one of the larger ships. We didn't have any issues on the Voyage of the Seas - the food was much better on the larger ship. Then entertainment on this ship was very good and enjoyed by all.

DISAPPOINTMENT. EXPECTED MUCH MORE! by IrenaP

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean

THE SHIP ITSELF WAS BEAUTIFUL, VERY NICE DAILY SHOWS! BUT!!! MEDIOCRE FOOD (COMPORABLE TO "Old Country Buffet") AND SAME BUFFET ITEMS EVERY DAY that sit under heating lamps. VERY UNUSUAL and VERY WEIRD DINNER MENU, FEW CHOISES. IT WAS OUR New Year cruise - VERY POOR NEW YEAR MENU AND POOR CELEBRATION. UNEXPECTED OUT-OF-POCKET EXPENSES - ESPESSO, CAPPUCINO, EVEN JUISE! CONTROLLED PAYMENTS TO DINNER STAFF AND CABIN STEWARDS WHEN POOR SERVICE IS PROVIDED WAS INAPPROPRIATE. I could go on and on...
