Beautiful scenery by njrumohr

Great cruise with beautiful ports. You need to book excursions as the cities themselves are tiny with little to see except trinket stores.

It Was Great To See Alaska by mshlomov

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Overall, this cruise was below our expectations, not entirely due to ships fault as the weather did not cooperate with us at all. Out of 7 days, we were at see 2.5 days (first half day, second full day and 7th full day). Alaska offers gorgeous scenery, beautiful views and interesting wild life experiences. I think stops in more populated areas would have improved our experience and a larger selection of excursions. I really wanted to see the bears eating salmon, but that didn't work out. Wanted to see the Hubbard Glacier, and that didn't work out (due to weather). Glad we went, but I doubt I'll be coming back.

Wonderful cruise by cramer155

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Excellent cruise! Definitely book excursions every port. Beautiful at every port. Trip advisor gives highlights of each port. Halibut and salmon so delicious 😋. Entertainment was sufficient for an Alaskan cruise. Food on board was delicious everywhere and plentiful in the wind jammer. Definitely get a room with a balcony to enjoy the beauty of Alaska.

Alaskan Adventure by vic0948

Alaska takes your breath away! The clean, crisp, refreshing air, simplicity of life, the sense of community and respect for nature makes this a favorite for me. This is my 2nd visit to Alaska but 1st time cruising here. Cruising allows you to cover more of the state so I highly recommend it. I also recommend bookending the cruise with 1-2 non-travel days if you are originating from the East coast.

Surprisingly Enjoyable Alaskan Cruise by malfieri

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Overall, this was a great cruise even though it was overcast for most of it. The temperatures were in the mid-50s to low-60s most of the trip but that didn't really deter from the enjoyment. Only one day was rainy enough to have a bit of an impact on our enjoyment but the weather was not as much of a downer overall as I thought it might be. As for the destinations, they were all decent to very enjoyable. We definitely want to do the cruise again now that we know more of what to expect. We also did a 3-day pre-cruise package that started in Fairbanks then went to Denali and finished in Anchorage/Seward. That was very enjoyable too and well worth it. The overall pre-cruise/cruise package was a top-notch and fun experience despite some of the minor issues mentioned. It is highly recommended if you've ever thought about doing an Alaskan cruise.

Ok value by htorok

It is a nice ship, with friendly staff, and many activities. We booked 2 shore tours on Viator, to make sure we have local tour guides. The mandatory gratuity of $14.50 per person/day was an unpleasant surprise, I didn't see it in the term/conditions when I booked the tour, and it was an additional $304.5 expense.

Disappointed by nicolecookphoto

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

We've cruised many times and this was our first cruise after the pandemic but if it had been our first cruise we'd probably never cruise again. The ship was clean and the staff was nice for the most part, but things were definitely lacking. Our balcony had chipping paint that would come off in sheets and the bathroom had chipped tile in the shower and a flimsy shower curtain - everything just looked tired and worn. And most of the food was just ok if not lacking. For instance the trifle dessert (which is typically made with pound cake layered with cream/custard and fresh berries) was served at dinner in a plastic cup with canned fruit cocktail trapped in gelatin and topped with a flavorless layer of yellow "cream" and a dollop of what tasted like Cool Whip. It was something you'd expect in a school cafeteria, not on a cruise. A lot of other dishes were like this, although the main course entrées were typically better. Also the waiters served my husband and son first, and it was a little weird to sit there and be the last person to get a menu or drink - I guess "ladies first" is outdated these days ;) The evening entertainment was mixed - some people could sing and others could not, the comedian was funny one night and not the second night, it was all just a little campy and not as polished as other cruises. The ports of call were mostly just shops selling jewelry and souvenirs and there was very little else to do. Icy Straight Point had the longest zip line in the world (1 mile long) so we did that and it was a blast. The cost was $179 per person. Other things we liked: the fresh squeezed orange juice ($3.50) was delicious, the chocolate mud pie cookies at the coffee shop were amazing and we saw lots of whales and bald eagles from our balcony. But there weren't enough positives to offset the disappointment we felt on this cruise. It was the priciest cruise we've done yet it felt like a second-rate experience. And although I'm sure we'll cruise again, it probably won't be on RCL.

Bucket list by lyoshihealth

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple

This is not a warm weather cruise, you will not be laying out in the sun enjoying the pool, rock climbing walls or miniature gold. This is a cruise geared toward relaxation and viewing beautiful scenery and wildlife.

Skip this trip, unless your 70. Plus half of us are now testing positive for covid. by joechapa

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

I found that there was a lack of activities on the cruise ship that meant what I typically enjoy. The food in the main dining room was very hit or miss we got served several dishes that were cold. Better considerable amount of booking issues and room issues while on the ship I'm happy to say they got resolved but it seemed like we spent way too much time in line the first two days oh and lastly the internet's terrible.

We will do Alaska cruise again....We liked flying into Anchorage and going Southbound ending in Vancouver. We took a bus to Seattle and toured there for several days before flying home.

Epic cruise! Epic adventure! by khstoudemire

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Cruising north through the Inside Passage was one of the most magical experiences I've ever had. The beauty of the snow covered mountains that surrounded us was unsurpassed and experiencing all of the aquatic wildlife was unforgettable. Radiance of the Seas was a very enjoyable way to experience Alaska and, I've determined that my "perfect cruise/Alaska vacation" would now be: 7 days northbound from Vancouver to Seward, 14 days in Alaska - Seward, Homer, Anchorage, etc., then 7 days southbound from Seward back to Vancouver. But, don't forget to pack that wallet and some backup credit cards!!
