Review summary

First time on a 10 day cruise. Really had a great time. I do feel like everything you do on a cruise is a sales job, but we still enjoyed it. Would absolutely do it again.

Embarkation

Super easy. Glad RC does timed check-in.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Enjoyed the food in all venues. Breakfast in the windjammer did get a little old after 10 days. Nothing ever changed. Specialty residents were good as well as the MDR.

Cascades Dining Room

5 out of 5

Had dinners here and never had a bad meal. Wait Staff was excellent.

Windjammer Marketplace

4 out of 5

Crowded but fair. Wasn't amazing but very do-able. Loved the Dog House for brats and hotdogs.

Samba Grill

3 out of 5

Too much food to really enjoy if that's possible. 8 courses of meat! We started splitting the courses between the two of us towards the end.

Giovanni's Table

4 out of 5

Loved the food there but had trouble with the service. Not enough staff and made it take way too long.

Chop's Grille

5 out of 5

Best lamb chops I've ever had! 16 oz bone in rib eye was also amazing.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Spent alot of time playing games in the Schooner Bar. Also loved the piano sing alongs. Shout out to Agus and Midday. Best waiters on the ship. Never missed keeping our drinks full. I do think RC can do better for activities on long Sea days. Too much shopping lectures when I would rather have someone come on board and give a presentation on the Panama Canal or Columbia. Teach us about what we are going to see and do.

Entertainment

Enjoyed all shows. Great amount of talent on that ship.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Top to bottom, the crew takes care of you. They were great.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Older smaller ship with a serious lack of elevators. Specially when everyone is coming back from port days. We took a lot of stairs. Other than that, it was easy to navigate and always clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Smallest shower I have ever been in. Everything else was fine, no complaints.

Ship tip

Be happy about where you are and just enjoy the experience. Don't go looking for things to complain about.

Ports of call

Colon, Panama

Loved Panama City and the locks. Long day but really enjoyed it. Can't wait to do a full transit some day.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

Chachoben ruins were very cool. Long drive both directions so no time to do anything else. Still had a good day.

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

Least favorite. "Best of" excursion was nothing more than a shopping trip on a very dirty island. Beach was crowded and not to impressive. Lunch was good.

Galveston, Texas

Went there specifically for the Victorian architecture and it did not disappoint. Beautiful old homes from the 1800's. Spent extra days there just to explore and enjoy. Had good food at some very nice restaurants as well. Really enjoyed our time there.

Cartagena, Colombia

I was surprised at how clean this city was. Really enjoyed our time in the old town area. The vendors were relentless so prepare yourselves.

Cozumel, Mexico

Saw some ruins and ate lunch at the beach. Not amazing but enjoyable.

Disembarkation

Miserable experience and I don't think it was all RC's fault. Too many people going through a customs system that was broke down.
