Our primary reason for taking this cruise was to visit Key West and the Bahamas since we had never been there before. The staff was wonderful and except for the first couple days we had great weather. We enjoyed the variety of music venues on board and the shows at night. The food was good.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Fastest embarkation we have ever had! The waiting area inside the Galveston port could use some benches for the elderly.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Most of the meals were very good except for the consistency of the scrambled eggs at the buffet. Some of the thinly sliced beef offerings were overcooked and tough in the main dining. Loved the desserts!
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Large variety of activities for everyone. We enoyed the variety of music venues, some of the trivia games (hard for memory challenged seniors), and Karaoke contests. The library area was very nice. I'd rather have less "Jewelry" venues during port discussions.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The Royal Caribbean singers and dancers were excellent. We enjoyed the Tango performance. Personally I do not care for magicians and jugglers!
Children's Programs
We are in our late 70's.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Great service from everyone. They were always friendly and helpful.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The outer surface of the ship probably needed some redoing. Loved the inside lounges, bars, casino, dining area were all well maintained and clean.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
The first couple days were too chilly until maintenance fixed the problem. The mattress was too hard and we didn't realize there was a "topper" available. We slept well anyway. The closets and shelving were good. Lighting on each side of the bed was very good. The coffee table by the couch was a bit too small!
Ship tip
The lower cabins are more stable if the "waves rock the boat"!
The ship excursion drove by the basics, but spent most of the time driving by the poorer parts of town and left out any nicer parts. We did not stop at the Atlantis Casino and did not participate in the "Rum tour".
Hundreds of Beach lounge chairs were available. The sand had little rocks not good for sandals. Coco Cay would be more enjoyable by a younger crowd. Beautiful flowers everywhere.
Appreciate your detailed and informative review. We can go to a Trivia contest one week and on a B2B go to the same event and still not get all the answers correct! But we also enjoy them. Glad you enjoyed your cruise.
