Review summary

The ship was beautiful! Diningroom food was good. Buffet good was ok - breakfast at buffet was not good. Ate most breakfasts in diningroom. Ports of Call were good. Room steward, Albert, and diningroom staff were excellent. My 6yr old daughter loved Raphael in the diningroom. The oceanview cabin was small but surprisingly comfortable and we could unpack and store all our clothes for 4 and luggage easily. Wouldn't get balcony room for cool and rainy most of time so lots of people stated they didn't use them much. Children's program was limited and seemed to be closed alot of the time. Would be open for few hours then closed so difficult to watch movie or do anything with husband for had to go get kids. Both my children didn't enjoy childrens program esp when compared to last cruise which was a disney. Last day at sea had almost nothing to do-- movie theater was full for all the showings. Also entertainment was very disappointing--only two song/dance nights and all the rest were standup comedians. I like comedy but 5 nights out of 7 was alot esp for the children who didn't get most of the jokes.  The entertainment was much better on disney and carnival. Also, Royal Caribbean pushed the art sales hard--it was almost constant and that seemed to be one of the major forms of entertainment on the ship. The photo people were also constantly trying to take your picture with various characters and if you tried to take pictures with your own camera they were very hostile and wouldn't pose with the children. The ridiculous charge of 23$ per picture was abit much too.  I did enjoy the Alaska cruise but would probably sail Disney or Carnival next time. I was disappointed in Royal Caribbean for families but am sure it would be ok for seniors or couples without children. Of course, my impression might have been different if not Alaska cruise for Caribbean may have had more family activities.

PS We did enjoy the climbing wall and my son (10)enjoyed the basketball courts

Thanks for the review Barbara. We sailed the same ship and itinerary a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it as well. I think the weather must’ve been better on our sailing because the balconies and pool all got a lot of use.
