Review summary

Overall very nice positive experience. First time on Alaska cruise and first time on Cunard. Overall for me so far prefer Cunard.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Great organization at Vancouver cruise terminal

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Inconsistent. Sometimes outstanding but mostly below what I expected on Cunard

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Loved the lectures, watercolor workshops, gin tasting, afternoon tea. Hydro spa was just so so. Water temp in therapy pool should be hotter. Sauna was small and often crowded. Only hot tubs were outside and not convenient with cooler weather.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
All the shows, musicians performers were top notch.

Children's Programs

No children

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Very hit or miss. Overall staff seemed poorly trained and uncoordinated. Couple of standouts in midship’s bartender and the head waiter for our dining table.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Overall excellent. Noticed a few items that could use updating like some worn carpet and some furniture in cabin very scratched.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Overall very pleased. Shower is small and surprised only has curtain and not an enclosure. Lots of closet and storage space. Nice size balcony.

Ports of call

Vancouver (Canada Place), British Columbia

3 out of 5
Only for embarkation/ disembarkation. Very large congested city. Reminds of traffic in NYC.

Sitka, Alaska

4 out of 5
Fun excursion to glass works studio. Only in port from 1-6 pm so not much time left for other activities after the excursion

Juneau, Alaska

5 out of 5
My favorite. Lots to do and see close to the port. Nice restaurants & shops. Tram was the standout for me.

Cruise Glacier Bay

5 out of 5
Just amazing. Lots of info provided by NPS personnel who were onboard for this part.

Haines, Alaska

1 out of 5
Really nothing here. Have to take ferry to get to Skagway. Other ships all docked directly in Skagway. Ferry tix were limited.

Cruise Tracy Arm Fjord, Alaska

4 out of 5
Captain decided to turn around early due to the amount of ice floating so we didn’t see all anticipated

Cruise Misty Fjords, Alaska

4 out of 5
Amazing landscapes!

Ketchikan, Alaska

4 out of 5
Fun port town. Excursions to Saxman Village and Lumberjack show were great even though mostly pouring rain throughout the day.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Very organized and fast.
