Review summary

There were many ups and downs, but overall, a much needed vacation after COVID-19 pandemic. I like sailing the seas and not making the bed or cooking. Its also so nice to chat with other people from around the nation and share stories. Alaska gave us great weather, just a touch of rain, but mostly just Fall type weather. Saw many whales from the ship and had a great time learning about how cities have thrived on such little resources. Def book tours and explore!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation went smooth and we had all forms on our phones ready. Short line, walked through customs, went right on board and received luggage in no time!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Main dining rooms were great. We did not participate in any specialty dining. The Windjammer was not that great and had less selections than pre-pandemic times, but still a good effort for these times.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
I enjoyed all of the ships amenities like bumper cars, dance fitness, Zen coloring, rock climbing, but wished they had more complimentary reservations for iFly and NorthStar. I paid for Northstar, but hear from other cruisers that it will take at least two to three flys to really enjoy the iFly experience. I decided to save my money and not fly this trip.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
I enjoyed the bands, but felt the main acts in the evening were not as fun. Many people raved about Starwater, but I didn't enjoy it at all. I didn't understand it. And another night, we thought we were going to see a comedian and watch some stand up, and it wasn't that type of show. I think the descriptions can be better written.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
Great!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Staff really hustled. Seemed like there was less workers... but that's happening everywhere.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Seemed very clean and the layout was great.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Large with lots of storage. Could hear some waves hitting and the horn pretty often, but the large porthole and extra space made up for it.

Ship tip

Reserve your complimentary iFly and NorthStar.

Disembarkation

1 out of 5
It was disorganized within the ship's crew and customs. They called our number for disembarkation and there was a huge line and people stuck in staircases, meanwhile they are asking for us not to congregate. The port staff were overwhelmed and the shuttles were too. People were arriving to get on board while we were still trying to come off! It was awful and I barely made it to the airport to get checked in and on my flight home.
