Review summary

It would have been great if Skagway was not canceled and 2 glacier ports were scheduled. The late schedule adjustment really detracted from the port/excursion experience. The experience on the ship was great - always something to do whether it was laser tag, bumper cars, trivia, sport competitions, shows, or just drinking. Be careful of Covid protocols - we were deemed close contacts and needed to test every day (mandatory, no way around it) - they also tell you to stay in your room to eat/drink and wear a mask at all times - they do not enforce/check this.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Very quick - 30 minutes to get through terminal

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Windjammer buffet: long lines for omelettes, bacon never crispy… it’s what you’d expect from buffet food Dining: choose a time, not my time… food was good, lot of different options every night

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Headliner shows did not live up to their hype. However, there was always something to do - some activities either sold out quickly (roller skating) or had very long lines (laser tag, bumper cars) - I would suggest lining up earlier for those

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Schooner Bar bartenders were fantastic

Ship Quality

5 out of 5

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Sounded like a creeking noise almost every night due to ship’s movement - very difficult to sleep.

Ship tip

Book excursions beforehand, line up early for uncommon actives, go to Schooner Bar for great service, don’t tell medical your friends are close contacts if you get COVID

Ports of call

Victoria, British Columbia

3 out of 5
Was in port for 4 hours, very beautiful scenery but not much to actually do

Sitka, Alaska

3 out of 5
Taste of Sitka tour - nothing special, had a beautiful day and ended it with 2 beers and a piece of salmon… good value

Juneau, Alaska

5 out of 5
Dog Sledding Summer Camp - it was fun and a different experience. Would recommend going to glacier though if Juneau is your only glacier port

Seattle, Washington

3 out of 5
The Seattle landmarks (Garden, Needle, Pike, etc.) were fun… homeless people on seemingly every corner

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Did the classic style (leave bags outside of room) - had no issues and got off fairly quickly. I know those who did self assist were able to get off with bags by 7:15 for those in a rush.
