Review summary
We have cruised many times on Royal Caribbean, Disney, and Princess. Our favorite is the Royal Oasis which knocked our socks off. With all the publicity on the new Quantum, we expected even more - how disappointing! Getting on the ship was tiresome as we had to have a person enter our info on a touch pad - no lines - it was utter chaos. Then we waited for our "assigned" time to go on the ship - along with a few hundred others. The excursion area was poorly staffed which was our first stop where we were informed that the cabanas on Coco Cay were offered to those in the suites, therefore there were none available. The staff were very unfriendly, not helpful, the ship was not kept clean of dropped food nor water on the floor. The bumper cars were a joke as the venue was used also for roller skating and open basketball, thus the cars were available every couple of days for a couple of hours for which we stood in line for an hour to get a two minute ride! The dining was poor as many menu items were offered in each restaurant. The mandatory "wash your hands before entering the Windjammer" was never kept clean with water all over the sinks and floor - we actually saw someone fall-yet there was a greeter there at all times who did just that - greet. In every restaurant, you had to request something to drink as in tea, cola, etc. - it was never offered!! The furnishings in the common areas were made for sleeping - extremely deep sofas with cushions you had to crawl onto, wicker looking teepees for you to crawl into to sleep - talk about germy!! There were no afternoon movies for viewing - if you didn't want more sun or to play bingo, you were out of luck. We had to get to the airport and chose the "early walk off" only instead they made us all corral into an area and then finally let us disembark - formally we just left our rooms and walked off the ship. We were totally NOT WOWED by this ship, it's staff nor the amenities!!

Ship tip
If you want a cabana at their private island you will need to book a suite. Reservations are only allowed after boarding - and then to be told they offered them to the suites first and they were all reserved. RC employee actually told us they CALLED the suite reservations prior to sailing!!!!

We were on the Quantum's maiden voyage in November 2014 and I was wondering if RC had corrected the problems we experienced such as: pre-booked dining and events NOT transferring over to the ship requiring us to re-book after boarding, the NorthStar capsule not working, lack of wait service on the pool decks, no sports channels on TV or in bars, poor service and food variety in the complimentary restaurants, to name a few.
