Review summary

This was a cruise of a lifetime (but we hope to make a few more like it). The ship, the itinerary, the staff, the weather, everything was excellent.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Food was excellent in all venues. Main dining room and Pinnacle Grill were exceptional!

Pinnacle Grill

5 out of 5

We had several dinners, lunches, and breakfast at the Pinnacle Grill. The quality of the service, the food, the ambiance, was superb. It is truly a very special place!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The conferences were very informative and interesting, the shows and music were first class. For a 68 day cruise it was amazing the variety of shows that was presented.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
First class entertainers (Music, singers, dancers, magicians, comedians) Great variety

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
No matter what area of the ship you were, from your cabin, dining venues, shows, front desk, shops, medical room, etc. the staff could not have been nicer or more helpful,

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The Prinsendam is a jewel of a ship. Being a relatively small ship it has an elegance and intimacy only possible in this size ship. Everything is easily accessible without extremely long walks. It gives you a feeling of being on a large yacht instead of a cruise ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We had an absolutely beautiful cabin. Since it was a shower only cabin, we did not have to wrestle with the bathtubs of the other cabins which are awkward and difficult to get in and out. This is the only criticism that we could make if we were on one of the other cabins.

Ship tip

The ship is a true gem. We are scheduled on three itineraries of the Prinsendam for 2019. The only weak point, as mentioned above, is the accessibility of the bathtubs. We have brought this to the attention of HAL and hopefully they will address the problem when the ship goes into dry dock this December.
