The best tip....GO!

Don't pay attention to all the negative comments. Go form your own opinion and keep an open mind that this is a very port intensive cruise and there has to be a quick turn around time for crew and staff. Go enjoy the beauty of Hawaii!!!!

If you can book a room higher up on the ship is much handier for most things you need to go and do are located there. You can avoid the elevator this way.

Service in the dining room on Deck 6 was better than the service in the dining room on Deck 5. Captain took us around the south side of the Big Island to see the lava run into the sea (that was a nice touch to see that).

Try to stay extra day in Oahu. If you want beach day, chose Maui . Kona beach is lava and rocky. Plus, there is a small beach in Kona right where the tender docks. Plenty of shopping and eateries right there. Might not even need shore excursion. We did Valley Isle excursions for road to Hana trip.

The Legends dining room was quieter than the below restaurant and even though they ask you to wear formal casual, it is not enforced.

Disembarkation was a breeze. Don't hesitate to take your luggage of the ship by yourself.

Don't spend the extra money on Specialty Dining, the only benefit I got out of it is less people, shorter lines.

Specialty dining in French Bistro was delightful. Brought us a happy anniversary cake and sang to us.

Liked the free style dining.

Be prepared to spend a lot of extra money.

No need to pay for food - the free dining areas were good

Get a suite, if possible.

Be patient during the embarkation and disembarkation process. It is very lengthy!!!!! The dining package is a good idea. It was great to have other choices for a nice dinner.

Eat breakfast buffet in back of the ship. Less crowded and same food as Aloha Cafe
delmonte1
Opt for the buffets if you don't want to pay for meals. One restaurant was charging $25 per person for dinner. If you plan on leaving the ship to visit the islands, get a cabin towards the front so you can get back to your cabin quicker.

Freestyle Dining was quick and easy for two people. Service in the Skyline Restaurant was excellent. Service in the Buffet Restaurants was spotty at best and non existent on some occasions. Any inconvenience was worth it because the Islands were so beautiful and we could do it on a 7 day cruise.

Cruisers should be made aware that the menu from the Skyline and Liberty restaurants are the same. This would allow them to make their choice of which restaurant to go to based on the atmosphere that each one offers not on an expectation that the menu choices are different.
ccputnammaine
Enjoyed eating at the Cadillac dining area...much quieter than Aloha.
