Great Return To Alaska Cruising by CMM496

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Ovation of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

We have done multiple cruises with RC and will continue to. This was the first full capacity cruise for them since Covid began. There were some hiccups, but we enjoyed it and will go back to Alaska again with RC.

I like the Ovation, but seems the team needs to gel better. Not their best showing. by matthewthamm

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Ovation of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

This was our third cruise back after the Covid year. We were on the Carnival Elation in October, and Harmony of the Seas in December. We chose this cruise because we could get back on board and used the Next Cruise program on the Harmony. Seems like Royal was giving away cruises late last year, (at least to us). We are Vaxed, and boosted, and the price was great. So, we jumped on the Alaska trip. Yes, in May. We were sailing again. That was good. But this cruise was under provisioned (or oversold) for the number of people on board (~4,000)

Ovation of the Seas Weight Loss Cruise by kentospaz

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Ovation of the Seas

Great cruise in Alaska because our kids were there, they were entertained and we loved our stops. Good weather helped. If we were cruising as a couple, we would have been very disappointed with the ship part of this cruise. We will not sail RCL again as a couple.

Ovation WOWS again by PJandJesse

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Ovation of the Seas

It was the last Alaska cruise of 2021 on Ovation. It was incredible. Passengers could have been friendlier to each other and the crew, but, I LOVED IT!

Great Alaskan Cruise by lgreek

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Ovation of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Great to be back on a cruise. All of the precautions being taken, including reduced capacity, made this cruise very safe and enjoyable. The staff truly seemed happy to have us back cruising with them again as they were overly attentive an ensuring the cleanliness and safety of everyone. Already booked our next cruise back to Alaska.

Last ship of the season has it challenges but still a good time. by Jeneugant

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Ovation of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Last cruise to alaska for the cruise season. Many excursions no longer available and many stops already closed. We went just to see the glacier so this was no problem. Rain was expected so no surprises there - otherwise it was a nice time. Crew/Captain did their best as we were trying to avoid bad weather. Needed to be flexible but we are on a cruise so can’t complain 😀.

Still a low end cruise line by michaelclark561

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Ovation of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Royal Caribbean again failed to provide a great cruise experience. Just average to bad. This is why I prefer Holland America. Much more customer service focused and knowledgeable about everything. Avoid Royal Caribbean if you are looking for service.

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience on the Ovation of the Seas. Become familiar with the app, make reservations for shows and other experiences, and ask questions of any staff if you are confused or need help! :)

Juneau, Skagway, very quiet due to late in September. Sitka Wildlife and Fin Lodge lunch was the best ever. Saw multiple whales, a bear, deer and otters.

Alaska cruise by Cruiselovers70

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Ovation of the Seas

This was a 7 night sailing out of Seattle, Washington. The most memorable part of this cruise was the magnificent scenery encountered through the Alaska inside passage and to the glacier. We were amazed by the beauty of the mountains and hundreds of waterfalls that we saw along the way to the glacier. It was spectacular!!!

We had the best time! Incredible good and super awesome staff! Ship was only at 25 % capacity. Covid testing for kids was a bit tedious but better safe than sorry! We all had an amazing time!! Can’t wait until our next Royal cruise next month!!!

Disappointing Alaska Cruise by marlsweiss

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Ovation of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

If this was my 1 st sailing with Royal Caribbean I wouldn’t go again. Itinerary ..food…entertainment..was disappointing. Going to Alaska you expect to see glaciers up close so you can experience calving of the ice. Not once did we see that! Coming into the inside passage the ship came in at 6:15 in the dark! Saw glacier in the far distance on the way out!! No cream for my coffee..lobster dinner and shrimp cocktail were not cooked. Very slimy and disappointing. Salmon dried out and fishy on an Alaskan cruise?? Every meat dish… roast beef..lamb … ordered medium but came out RAW! Sent it back but came out the same way!! I can go on and on but I think you get the picture. The main show “Dream” was a very poor choice. Who wants to see a show based on loosing a loved one leaving the spouse to raise two children. He had nightmares… longing to see his loved one again only to see her in and fade out of his dreams.. This cruise has mostly adults and many seniors. Do you think they would be happy to sit through a show on loss of a loved one especially on vacation????

Royally treated cruise vacation by amclassi

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Ovation of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

During these pandemic times, we could not have felt safer in a service driven environment. Our needs were always met with smiles and eager to please staff. The beautiful ship was spotless and every effort was made to keep it that way by their crew.
