It’s so hard to pack clothes for this one. So many weather variations.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
We arrived by shuttle from our hotel, there were 2 ships, the luggage people were making sure we went to the correct ship, we waited for a few minutes to enter, the lines were long but moved well. We went up the escalator to another line, still moving well, got checked in quick; however, we had to wait for another couple as the person doing their check in was new and asked to see every paper. At 11:00 the gangway was opened and up to the ship we went.

We really didn’t participate in the activities but, did got to just listen and laugh. The crew doing the activities in the different areas were so funny. They were laughing at guest answers and at themselves. It was great.

This room was clean, bed slept great. It has lots of storage, even storage over the bed. Our room attendant showed us that!
Ship tip
When in the Windjammer get your food and instead of TRYING to find a table close to the food, head to the back of the ship. We found several empty tables, quiet from all the bustling, and even tables outside to enjoy your meal.
We did an excursion after leaving the ship. You really can’t trust the Seattle weather. It was foggy and we didn’t get to view Mt. Rainier from the floor of the Sky View Observatory - Columbia Center. We did see the football and baseball fields. Then we went to the Public Market Center to watch fish being thrown. Third place to stop was the Starbucks corporate office. Eye roll boring. Anyway, got dropped off at the airport without problem.
Also, forgot, the bus line tour guide had covid, the company didn’t get us another guide, the bus driver couldn’t drive and use the microphone at the same time. We didn’t get any interesting information as we rode through the city.
What else can I say, BEAUTIFUL!
We grabbed a taxi and headed off to the Harley dealership, a 30–40 minute drive from the port, depending on traffic. He waited for us and then took us on a tour himself. We went to the castle where X-men was filmed, a beautiful park with a 3000 year old tree, world’s tallest totem pole, the Parliament area, and Fisherman’s Wharf.
We rode a train in Skagway and the time was excellent. We also walked around Skagway as well, the city museum, brothel museum, etc. the city is beautiful with the buildings being updated to look 1800s.
We did an disembarkation excursion so that we wouldn’t need to sit at the airport for several hours. We got off quick, found our luggage, headed to the bus, and headed out for our tour.
I do wish that the did the facial recognition for customs like Galveston does. The exit line doesn’t stop unless recognition doesn’t happen.
