Review summary

I can't wait to plan my next Royal Carribean cruise. I would definitely go to Alaska again and on Ovation again no doubt. Scenic, and relaxing.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
I was nervous because I read a lot of reviews on the process here being chaos but it was smooth. There were lines and lots of people but everything moved. We entered at our 12pm check in time and showed our passport, then up the escalator to security, then to a very kind lady to show vaccine, covid test, boarding pass and passport. We were through and on the ship at 12:15!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Specialty resteraunts were outstanding, both quality and staff. Main dining was okay, a bit chaotic. And the windjammer was to be expected for a buffet. Lots of options and seating space. Burger and fries area were amazing. We ate it all week for lunch.

The rolls here were fabulous, we left so stuffed. Everything was absolutely delicious and the service was incredible.

Wonderland

This was such an amazing culinary experience. I had high hopes and it still exceeded all expectations. Everything was delicious, the spare rib was to die for and the desserts especially 'the world'. The drinks too were delicious. The most fun I have had dining out.

Jamie's Italian

5 out of 5

Jamie's italian was so delicous. We had it for lunch and we were in a food coma the rest of the day. Highly recommend the calamari, the truffle, and the burger. Everything was delicious.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
We had a journey cover band on board our ship called DSB that were exceptional. We got seats 2 hours in advance to be up front they were that good. Saw them multiple times. Live. Love. Legs was outstanding! They have very talented singers, dancers, and musicians onboard. My only complaint is everything is scheduled so late. We had to wait around till 8pm for entertainment. Probably has to do with late dinner times.

Cabin / Stateroom

I was so nervous for having an obstructed view but this cabin was amazing. We were the floor above the lifeboats so it was hardly noticeable. It was soo spacious for my husband and I. The bathroom was compact but you never really felt it. The shower was amazing. Lots of room to turn and wash.

Ship tip

Splurge on specialty restaurants it is worth it! Get a balcony cabin the views in Alaska are worth the money.

We walked off our luggage so we woke up at 645am and walked off. They have that option till 8am and then they call luggage tags. Smooth process.
