Review summary

Fantastic, not to be missed cruise! The crew on board this ship were by far the most competent and friendly of all the ships I have been on. I cannot wait to travel on Ovation of the Seas again based on the experiences we had on this cruise. Thank you Royal Caribbean, and Danielle Smith from for taking such good care of us!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Thanks to my travel agent Danielle Smith and Shore Access for setting up our embarkation with Francine and Rhiannon as our escorts. It was stress free and so appreciated. Traveling with a medically fragile child and all our luggage it can be a challenge. Thank you for your professional courtesy and kindness!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

We were in Silk Dining Room Table #583. Our server and assistant server were AMAZING! Their names were Chito and Frangelico (sp?) Both were wonderful.

Onboard Activities

I enjoyed the spa. Didn't try the pools, fitness center, or rock-climbing walls. Did enjoy the Trivia Contests!

Service and Staff

Made was my WOW guy! He did so much for us as our room steward. I was very grateful he had our room. With a special needs child it can be extra work sometimes and our hours in the room were different from day to day depending on her needs. Julia who was a senior guest services officer helped us in several ways and escorted us off the ship on disembarkation day. She was fabulous and also Wowed us! Derek the Food and Beverage manager was fantastic! He was in charge of making sure our daughter had her special formula, drinking water, and distilled water for her equipment. He was always seeking us out to ensure everything was going great during our cruise! THANK YOU! That was amazing!

Ship Quality

I am a fan of Oasis class ships. This was our first time on a Quantum Class ship. I LOVED it! Beautiful, clean, comfortable ship! I can't wait to sail her again!

Cabin / Stateroom

Cabin and balcony were very clean. And kept that way by our room steward! It always was cool, comfortable, and smelled fresh. This was the perfect cabin for our special needs child. It was a little small at first, but we finally found places to put everything and made it work. Loved the size of the bathroom. That was the real reason we chose this particular cabin. We needed a roll-in shower. Having a bath tub was a bonus! Two sinks were appreciated since we had to wash up a lot of our daughters supplies. The bathroom and suite itself could have used a bit more storage. We also had to get rid of all of the decor sitting on table tops so we could arrange our daughter's supplies.

CRUISE ENDICOTT ARM & DAWES GLACIER

Would have liked a little more time in this fjord. With our first glacier we loved the gentleman who was giving us information over the PA system about what we were seeing. We also got notice when we were leaving so you could get last minute pictures. This glacier we arrived late and left early and were surprised by that.

Disembarkation

Thanks to Julia, senior guest services officer who made the arrangements for our disembarkation we had a smooth experience. The only problem was when we got to the Transfer Shuttle they did not arrange for a bus with a lift. Therefore we had to go in separate taxicabs to get to the airport. That was not cool.
