The osterdam was great, from checking in (smooth) , room was perfect, dinning was 4 star the whole way, this is a cruise ship to go on they do it right, this was my 101 day cruiseing and this was a good time for us, mexico is always mexico ports were ok!, take this one and you wont regret it.

We had a fanatastic cruise. The food was terrific, the shows were very professional, all of the activities were fun and gave an opportunity to meet more people. We also enjoyed a meal at the Pinnacle Grill and it was wonderful. The dining room stewards and the cabin stewards were very attentive and bent over backwards to make sure we had everything we needed.

We thought the ship was beautiful..in every detail. The staff were gracious and can't believe so friendly after working 11 hours a day.

We had a large family and we enjoyed being able to hang out together in our staterooms or in a variety of other lounges and restaurantes. The state rooms with a balcony were very nice, worth the extra money as we enjoyed being able to eat breakfast on the balcony in our PJs, we were able to have our balconies ajoin so it made it easy to visit without having to go out in the hall. We also had an internal room across from the staterooms, this seemed roomy for two people, compared to other cruise ships. The staff was very personable and friendly, I don't know how they do it but they make it seem like they have been waiting just for you to come on the cruise. We didn't book any excursions too difficult for our multigenerational group. We did go ashore at Cabo San Lucas and we took a Water Taxi to see the sites - very reasonable and we enjoyed it. In Mazatlan we took a taxi and saw the sites which worked out well. In Puerto Vallarta we took a taxi to Mismaloya Beach - Wow what a great place to snorkle and enjoy a great Meal at the beach restaurantes. The taxi there cost use $42 for 6 people, the snorkle gear and boat ride to caves and reef for snorkling cost us $45 for 6 of us for an hour, the Taxi back to the boat cost $27 for all 6. The Margauritas on the beach cost us 8-9 dollars but they were huge and the best I have ever had. All together a very nice trip only regret we did not have more time to spend on the beaches. The ship shows were very good, I enjoyed them but Grandma did not like them as much, the musical productions were a little too brassy and modern for her taste. She did enjoy the string quartet.

Our cruise on the Oosterdam was simply wonderful. We arrived at 3.00 pm to board and were on the ship within 10mins of arriving at the terminal. Far better than the Zoo we normally encounter. The Suite privileges, as well as the size of the cabin, make the extra spend worth every penny - we loved it. Breakfast in the Pinnacle every morning was extra special, along with the complimentary laundry and dry cleaning services. We had great food in the main dining room and the staff all over the ship were friendly, smiling and helpful. The Hotel Manager was exceptional. Even the Casino was kind on this occasion and I was slightly up on the trip! Only got home yesterday and have started looking at options for another cruise later in the year.

The Oosterdam is beautiful ship and the crew and food were the best we have ever encountered ( this was our 29th cruise ). This was our first Holand America cruise--we look forward to cruising with them again.

A very relaxed atmosphere and very helpful and discreet staff. The suites are lovely and the Neptune lounge is a very nice feature. If I had an observation it would be that the Pinnacle grill; although it has excellent food and atmosphere;after several cruises on Holland America the menu in the grill has stayed the same and has become rather boring.

overall NOT impressed with HA! Food quality was spotty at best, Ship staff does not respect persons in recovery AA. They scheduled the meetings in a cigar bar/ounge and servers were coming in with drinks! We requested a different location but the ship staff brushed us off and was most indifferent to our situation. We managed to find other nearby locations to meet but because of this experience, I will never return on a HA ship! Once we left San Diego, it took two days of crusing before we got to a Mexican port and the ship was small and did not offer enough interesting things to do to make that long time enjoyable. The entertainment was poor except for the magician couple and the Elton John impersonator, all like high school performers. NOT enjoyable!

We were pleased with every aspect, the decor, the service, the layout, our room, the food.

The ship was beautiful. You could not fault the elegant of the decor. The food was plentiful and the salmon dishes were excellent. I felt the presentation in the Lido was very "cafeteria" - and not as well done as in the dining room. The constant smell of garlic was somewhat annoying, especially when eating dessert. I liked the craft classes and the shore talks. Evening entertainment was enjoyable but the musical numbers were far too loud. I used earplugs.

We did not enjoy the food at all. This was not our first cruise, and although we loved Alaska and all the tours we booked thru ship, we did not enjoy Holland American line. I did not like the spa as compared to other cruise lines, and I did not think the overall staff went out of their way to service. What we did like were the beds in staterooms, the best I've had.

Wow, the ship is beautiful and you can sense the pride in the level of service and upkeep. The food was fantastic, the new mattresses are more comfortable than home.

The cruise is a beautiful, Alaska has some of the most gorgeous scenary, so lush and green. As far as this cruise with Holland America, it's tailored to the older possilbly retired crowd or for those who like to relax on their trip. Not a lot of activities for the younger folks. Although the service is excellent, the food needs some improvement, but their leisure dining plan is a plus allowing for flexibility in the time you eat at the dining hall. I was sad that we arrived at the Victoria, B.C. Canada port at night so we could not appreciate the city and most of the shops were closed, we'll probably have to return some other time. And getting on and off the ships upon boarding or at the port was very organized and ran smoothly.

The ship and the chosen ports were teriffic.The shore excursions and the companies that the cruise line recommended for these adventures were well researched and well chosen.

A beautiful and well kept ship, service was excellent, every need attended to. Our cabin faced the rear of the ship so we had a panoramic view of where we'd been. The balcony was huge, ample room for several people to sit and/or move around. The food was good, portions were kept small and varied in the restaurants. The Pinnacle Grill was outstanding. The buffet was as good as a buffet can be, we ate most of our meals in the restaurant or room service for breakfast. The shows were good and varied, appealed to most everyone, they lasted about an hour and were held every day. Shopping was confined to a large area on one deck. I personally like that concept. There was no pressure to buy whatsoever. The gym facility was large and at the front of the ship with TV's and a good view of the ocean. Ports of call were interesting and easily accessible, again no pressure to buy tours. Do as little or as much as you wish.

The ship was new, clean and fast. They went out of their way to get the best docking or mooring position in each port. Little things mean a lot and they pay attention to the little things that make the cruise very enjoyable.
