Review summary

We had a large family and we enjoyed being able to hang out together in our staterooms or in a variety of other lounges and restaurantes. The state rooms with a balcony were very nice, worth the extra money as we enjoyed being able to eat breakfast on the balcony in our PJs, we were able to have our balconies ajoin so it made it easy to visit without having to go out in the hall. We also had an internal room across from the staterooms, this seemed roomy for two people, compared to other cruise ships. The staff was very personable and friendly, I don't know how they do it but they make it seem like they have been waiting just for you to come on the cruise. We didn't book any excursions too difficult for our multigenerational group. We did go ashore at Cabo San Lucas and we took a Water Taxi to see the sites - very reasonable and we enjoyed it. In Mazatlan we took a taxi and saw the sites which worked out well. In Puerto Vallarta we took a taxi to Mismaloya Beach - Wow what a great place to snorkle and enjoy a great Meal at the beach restaurantes. The taxi there cost use $42 for 6 people, the snorkle gear and boat ride to caves and reef for snorkling cost us $45 for 6 of us for an hour, the Taxi back to the boat cost $27 for all 6. The Margauritas on the beach cost us 8-9 dollars but they were huge and the best I have ever had. All together a very nice trip only regret we did not have more time to spend on the beaches. The ship shows were very good, I enjoyed them but Grandma did not like them as much, the musical productions were a little too brassy and modern for her taste. She did enjoy the string quartet.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We really loved some of the menus and had a hard time choosing, at other times is was easy to decide because it was a little too far out for our midwest taste.

Children's Programs

We went during the school year and the ship only had 38 kids on board - four of them belonged to our group. During the summer they have 200 or more on board. The staff was very nice they did a great job keeping the kids involved in acitivities without getting them wild and wound up. They really enjoyed the treasure hunt /pirate night. We did not expect the kids would choose to spend very much time in the kids room with Grandma around but they wanted to escape the adult world for awhile so they went for a couple hours everyday much to my surprise.

Pros: There was something for everyone from 6 years old to 92 years young

Cons: The amount of time ashore seemed too short.
