Review summary
overall NOT impressed with HA! Food quality was spotty at best, Ship staff does not respect persons in recovery AA. They scheduled the meetings in a cigar bar/ounge and servers were coming in with drinks! We requested a different location but the ship staff brushed us off and was most indifferent to our situation. We managed to find other nearby locations to meet but because of this experience, I will never return on a HA ship! Once we left San Diego, it took two days of crusing before we got to a Mexican port and the ship was small and did not offer enough interesting things to do to make that long time enjoyable. The entertainment was poor except for the magician couple and the Elton John impersonator, all like high school performers. NOT enjoyable!Ports of call
Pros: the excursions in Mexican ports. service personnel were well trained and good at their tasks. The Elton John impersonator and Magicaians were enjoyable. the ship was well decorated and clean
Cons: food was a major disappointment. Some things were good but more often than not, food was over cooked and/or tasteless. Entertainment other than above mentioned, was amatureish. Holland America does NOT respect people in AA recovery! They scheduled our meetings in a cigar bar/ounge where drink
