We've only been on 4 cruises, but this was our favorite ship to date.

Enjoyed our trip. Eric the head of Recreation and the Captain were very personable. The food was great. The room we were in needed refurbishing. The carpet needed to be replaced. The excursions were good. I would definitely recommend this cruise.

My wife and I spent 14 days cruising from San Diego to Hawaii and back. Everything was great and we really felt special on the ship. We were constantly greeted by name by a variety of the staff onboard the ship. Food was outstanding, maybe too good as I gained weight on the cruise. Everyone was so nice to us.

the 7 day cruise was amazing. i have never ate so well in my life! the food was five star in the sit down dinning, although the buffet line was a was also very good, some items were a bit bland. it was very nice having a separate pool for adults and childeren. i stayed in an inner room, the room service and stuarts were very nice and timely. i highly receomend this cruise if you are wanting to relax and enjoy lesure time. although being a young adult, this is more of a older adult cruise line.

Our stateroom, with balcony was excellent. The service was exceptional. Wanted to turn around and make the trip again. Plenty of activities onboard to please any age or interest. This is my 4th cruise with Holland and the 2nd on the Oostersdam. Highly recommend this cruise line.

Oosterdam is really nice. It shows a little bit of wear, but not much. the use the wrong types of paint on some of the surfaces and keep not using Spar Farnish/ like 5-6 coats on outside wood, but other than that they kick but. we really needed the rest and they allowed us to get it. breakfast every morning in bed/superior cabin attendants (abdul and atman) David in the dining room. hell for islands and then 5 dfays o the sea home. great place. even enjoyed the bus tours

It was extremely well kept and clean. Service could not have been better and the food was "outstanding".

The MS Osterdam is an older ship but beautiful - it was kept extremely clean and shiny during the entire time we were on cruise. We are entering a new chapter in lives and will be going on more cruises and we feel that Holland America will fit our needs much better as it is a quieter crowd that enjoy relaxing and getting away from it all. The most outstanding aspect is their cleanliness and sanitation procedures. They provide written material in your stateroom and also post in every public restrooms to use paper towel or tissue to open the door. We generally practice this already but the Oosterdam has embraced it and ensures that it is being done; this was extremely impressive and we appreciate it. One issue of concern for us, but was handled very well by the front office, is to ensure that you know when you get a "large room ocean view obstructed" that it could mean you will be under a lounge with loud music at night and may also be in front of a huge winch that will run several days early in the mornings to handle the tenders. Also, we are hoping that when we return that they will no longer allow smoking in the Staterooms. We may have to hold off our next cruise with them until they can restrict the smoking areas. All in all, we will return to give them our business and enjoy their professional and wonderful service.

The ship was bigger than other HAL ships I have been on. Public rooms were welcoming and stateroom was roomy and comfortable.

The Ms Oosterdam was confortable. It was large enough to offer a lot of varitety while being small enough to get familar with the your fellow guests and crew staff. State rooms were were good size. Beds were firm and confortable. Balcony had two chairs and a side table.

Cruise was fine, but found it to be more geared towards seniors than younger couples. So not enough fun festive activities and music playing pool side. Gift shops also were lacking in variety of merchandisse compared with celebrity and princess lines. Food was very good in diningroom but kinda of blah at the buffets. But the staff was very nice and always kept the room neat and clean. all in all very relaxing. Debra at the tour excursions was exceptional in helping us plan our outdoor adventure.

Our cruise way delayed by one day due to an illness on the previous trip. That part was understanable, Holland America gave us a ship's credit for almost the amount we would have paid for that one day....nothing else. AA cruise staff (who we paid extra to help us book this trip) "tried" to be helpful, but came back with "sorry, there is nothing we can do to help". Service on the cruise was not even O.K., food was bland, we NEVER met our room steward, planned events were dull or never happened, staff was unfriendly (except for the man who cleaned the stairway glass every morning). The ship seemed old and the passengers were mostly grumpy old people that complained more than I am right now. We will NOT cruise on this line again.

The ship was old, but well maintained. The crew was great! The food was good. We had a nice, relaxing trip, which was what we wanted. We also got a balcony cabin for a great price.

Just returned from the Mexican Riviera. The ship was rerouted to Catalina Island and La Paz in place of Puerta Vallarta, there was a hurricane. We enjoyed the new route. It was our first time in La Paz and enjoyed it very much. The ship staff was very friendly.

The ship was beautiful, well maintained and staffed by friendly, warm people. The entertainment was first class and Glen, the Australian piano player in the Piano Bar was most enjoyable and fun. The aft pool deck was our favorite place to hang when we weren't being wined, dined or else ashore. Dave was an exceptional server and a delightful young man.

Friendly, expert food & room attendants. Great entertainment every night. Special touches from flowers, towel animals, to guest participation games.

This cruise was clearly for the older crowd (over 60).

overall excellent. Clean - constant staff cleaning - no standing around - everybody working and pleasant to you everywhere you went .

very clean, curteous staff, untill off shore excursions which were booked online-then they played dumb--food would be much better if not half garlic-food is to be natural--the stink of garlic permeated the dining halls--deserts were great--most salads good if you can find one without GARLIC--
