I would suggest that you make reservations for any onboard activities that you wish to do as they get filled early.

Book the North Star early. We were unable to experience the attraction due to social distancing, it appeared that only 4 passengers at a time were allowed. Reservations are required and immediately unavailable on day one.

Make sure and talk to your staff they know what to do to have fun and can help you anytime you have a question or need help on ship!

Do all the activities on board while your at sea. Don’t put it off. Bumper cars, flowrider. At dinner order more than one entree and/or app and/or dessert. Enjoy yourself

My recommendation is to skip Giovanni’s and Izumi sushi. For the price of these restaurants, I did not find the overall taste of the food to be worth it. This may sound a bit strange, but we have a local sushi place with better sushi for a third of the price;). And Giovanni’s was completely lacking. All three of our dishes were bland and odd. The Alfredo sauce was runny, the noodles were flavored strangely, and the chicken was dry. Overall, I’d have to say that the main dining room was superior in every way.

If you plan to do specialty dining, book them as soon as you board. Same with any shows you want to see. If you have a dining package, let your server know upfront, especially at Playmakers. It won’t appear on your SeaPass card, but if you have a beverage package, it will show up on your card. The layout of the ship is chaotic. If you want to go to Playmakers, you have to go to deck 15, then walk upstairs (in the Seaplex) to get to Playmakers. For those who can access the Diamond Lounge, go ALL the way forward on Deck 4, turn right at the Royal Theater and wind your way around to the other side of the staircase. Esplanade is more of a zig zag path.

This is not one of RC’s better designed ships. I imagine the things that can be improved will be in the next year or so. 1. Don’t bother with the KEY until the Covid protocol is over. 2. Stay away from the rooms with the angled balconies. 3. Keep your room selection mid or aft on the ship location. The design of the ship for the front allows a tremendous amount of wind, more than usual. 4.if you must sail this ship, consider a JS grade room, it will be worth it for the extra room you get. 5. Book your shows early as you can. 6. Have lunch at both Chops and Giovanni’s it’s wonderful. The English Pub was our favorite venue, with a great Musician and great bar staff, Dennis there really took care of us.

Wear your masks at all times and make sure they cover both your nose and mouth

Proteins are cooked well, bakery items not so much. Regular coffee is pretty decent, and you can get to-go cups in the Cafe promenade. Specialty dining was cheap and very much worth the price. The quality is a couple steps better than the standard fare.

Be careful of the elevator buttons, they are non touch, wave your finger In front of the button to light it up. Good idea except every day someone would stand too close to the panel and all the buttons would light up all the buttons by mistake.
