Last week I went on the inaugural sailing of Royal Caribbean's Odyssey of the Seas and it was an AMAZING experience
not just for the beauty of the things on the ship but, the AMAZING people that make it a true experience. I am
disabled and we have issues pre-booking a room that would fit my mom's scooter and my push walker, so when we were
struggling getting in our room Asep and Joanne Cotterman went SO far above and beyond in getting us a new room that
was full accessible which enhanced our enjoyment of the room and the balcony as a whole. Not only that Joanne was
checking in through the whole trip with us even when we were at Coco Cay we ran into her and she was just amazing
and worked towards making our trip outstanding. Mohammad at Guest Services was able to get us the room we needed and
it wasn't easy, but, he made it happen and even assisted in getting us wheelchair assist to disembark setup with a
smile at every turn. While in Perfect Day at Coco Cay we had another guardian angel Assata (hope I am spelling this
right) She was so helpful in letting us know what to do and how to enjoy our day and even got us a bottle of water
and found us a comfortable place to sit and plan out our day! So, much love for Royal Caribbean's people and service.
We had another recurring person who was always working on making sure that we always had what we need Regan and he
was in the El Loco Taco poolside, and waited on us in a few places and came to say his good byes to us when we were
in the casino! One of my favorite places to go was the Cafe Promenade and Margarita was our savor constantly with
fresh coffee anytime we saw her and she would go out of her way to help us carry out our drinks and treats to a
table and she was the smiling face that was just ALWAYS there for us! So many great people, casino wait staff and
service people were amazing and looked over me to be sure that I was safe in getting around and that I was well
attended to for drinks! I work at World Travel Holding Inc, and this was my FIRST time going on Royal Caribbean
before and I promise to make future trips with them just because they are amazing at taking care of you and making
your trip NEXT LEVEL! LOVED Perfect Day at Coco Cay, the saltwater lagoon was perfect for us as we are both
disabled it was the safest place for us to swim, but, as a critique I would love to see one area on the beach that
is lined with planks or a handrail that takes you to the edge, the sand combined with the somewhat steep entrance
and exit would be enhanced for everyone but, especially for those of us who aren't really surefooted, but, we did
have fun and made it work. Coming out I had a small issue, it started raining, not shocked it is tropical, but, the
accessible tram arrived fairly quickly and everyone was so focused on me being safe entering it and then as we went
forward unfortunately the vehicle broke, most likely due the weather I imagine, but, it wouldn't move forward,
things happen, but, then we backed up to the tram stop again and had to be offloaded, by this time it is REALLY
storming and the covered area really doesn't protect you from rain more sun, but, overall the process of getting
back off and waiting for another tram was about an hour ordeal and it happens, but, Akeem who was loading guests at
the stop, saw how cold I was getting as I was drenched and he offered me his yellow slicker, I told him I couldn't
get any more wet, but, I truly appreciated that he would offer that to me knowing how much longer he had to be out
there. So, Nice! The staff that does the transport on and off ship for wheelchair assist were so amazing as well,
while I didn't get their names for on or off ship sadly, but, they are ALL AMAZING and I hope that Royal Appreciates
them! I will say that this isn't on Royal Caribbean, but, they should know about this the taxi handlers, said well
we don't' have any accessible taxis and didn't make any effort to see if they could call any for us, we parked at
Terminal 19 parking garage and were so confused as I don't remember being told WHERE to park, but, when we arrived
we were trying to walk to Terminal 18, but, had no idea how far away that was, we had people stop and offer to find
someone to help and then someone that worked at the port, beautiful soul whose name I didn't get she worked at the
port for sure, but, she loaded me in her vehicle and took me to the terminal and came back to show my mom where to
drive to on her scooter till she knew we were safely where we need to be to check in. Thanks good! But, even on the
way out the Port officer was so kind and said I can make sure to get you a taxi that can take you today to the
terminal 19 lot when we left and that was so helpful, he took us to the elevators as his taxi wouldn't fit higher,
but, he was amazing, so we tipped him Big! In closing, so many names I have missed for sure, but, EVERYONE was
amazing and I love Royal Caribbean for how much effort they put into making us comfortable and making our experience
not only fun but, easy for us all! If this is a reflection of how all their staff are then we will be back! Asep
was the most caring room attendent we ever experienced and it was sad to change rooms because we never even met the
new room attendent but, our room was cleaned and cared for when we were out. But, our balcony was BEAUTIFUL and I am
smitten with balconies now I have never had one before! I will be doing a video for my Local LOVE YouTube Channel
as well and I can't wait to share it. If there could be 10 stars they would have gotten that from me and my MOM,
thanks so much!

I have to say that I was so pleased with all the amazing food we tried, it was nice to see such unique options and I got to sample things I have never tried and I loved their buffet and how it was setup to be easy for us! One of my favorite places to go was the Cafe Promenade and Margarita was our savor constantly with
fresh coffee anytime we saw her and she would go out of her way to help us carry out our drinks and treats to a table and she was the smiling face that was just ALWAYS there for us! This food was the best for when you wanted just a little bite of something I appreciated them as they were open 24 hours a day and I being a night owl appreciated being able to get a bite anytime. Their coconut cookies were to die for and I have to say in the buffet the desserts were not just visually appealing, but, some of the BEST things I put in my mouth before. I liked so much that you have no sugar added options available as well. WONDERFUL experience!

The food was so outstanding really and the staff went out of their way all the time to be sure that we had everything we could desire and refilled our drinks frequently as well as in general just showing their friendly helpful natures to us all. Not one time did we sit their and a main crew person, not wait staff didnt' come check on our our visit was going and it made us feel so special. Love the teamwork of these people in this area, they made it fun and really were proud of EVERYTHING they were serving and they have a right to be our best moments at sea were held in this room sampling so much great food, BEST experience foodwise of ANY cruise line I have experienced. The desserts they offer are just over the moon amazing, so many options and you can choose healthy choices as well for your sweet fix, but, they really went above and beyond to make the whole experience VISUALLY amazing as much as it was delicious! Top NOTCH and can't way to experience it again!

We enjoyed watching the North Star going up and seeing people's reaction to it, sadly the one issue I have is that their isn't a way for a scooter guest to get to it to enjoy it, hope they will consider making it accessible at some point in the future, my mom was so disappointed, being on oxygen it just wouldn't be possible for her to safely take all those stairs to ride it. Sadly, I exceed the weight limit, it would be nice if they could offer a smaller load of guests to allow for someone who is over the limit to still enjoy the attraction, I would have loved getting those amazing pictures and looking out over the ocean or even Coco Cay from there.

This area was amazing, there were so many smiling faces of staff members waiting to help us! Your staff in THE SHOP were amazing, we had a nice lady help us as my mom attempted to buy EVERYTHING in the store LOL! But, she was so patient and helped us gather all the things that made this a true fun experience. Loved this area it was the happening spot a place of gathering for lots of people the food areas were amazing, I loved the display of all the inaugural Odyssey of the Seas items and so many of their stores and bars in this area were just AWESOME over all....it was OVERWHELMING in a great way!

Ship Quality

This ship is new so as you can imagine it was just amazing and the whole thing is floating art really! Every corner of the ship was dramatic and the staff kept it all spic and span and were always cleaning to keep us safe and reminding us to wash our hands and use the sanitizer that was well placed throughout the ship.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
This room was massive, we were trying to use cabin 12542 originally and mom is on a scooter and I have a rolling walker and it wasn't working out so Asep along with Joanne Cottorman we were moved to an accessible cabin, we tried before we boarded to get that, but, wasn't given much help with it. But, these two did an amazing job. So, Joanne Cottorman worked with Guest Services Mohammad and they got me upgraded to 9666 accessible cabin and it changed our whole trip to OUTSTANDING, we were able to relax and not fight to get the scooter in each time, the doors are automatic and it was giant and had a place to even be on your scooter on the balcony and we just absolutely enjoyed it. My mom is going to be 72 in March, fingers crossed, but, she really couldn't say enough good things about Asep, Joanne Cottorman and Mohammad
Ship tip
Make sure and talk to your staff they know what to do to have fun and can help you anytime you have a question or need help on ship!
