Review summary

The Norwegian Viva is a lovely ship. The layout takes a minute to figure out, as it's not quite the same as other NCL ships. Once you've got it down, you appreciate how the ship's design ensures you never feel too crowded. I was surprised that the buffet was half the size that I'm used to...then I discovered the food hall and understood. The food and service were excellent.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
First time emarking in Ravenna - there were some kinks, but overall, not bad.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
All of the food was good, but Onda was superb!

5 out of 5
Bingo, Deal or No Deal, and Press Your Luck Live were fun.

The shows were great. The theater converts into a nightclub, which is brilliant.

Top-notch as we've come to expect.

Ship Quality

The ship was running at 85% capacity yet it never felt crowded. The design of the Viva is amazing.

Comfy and clean - the location was perfect.

Spend time in the Observation Lounge - it is lovely.

We were on the Viva back in January and loved it and now we are 66 days away from going back and I can’t wait! I was a bit scary about the dining options because a lot reviews were complaining not being able to find food, but this cruise has more restaurants than days in a week so some people were definitely not reading. Also took us few days to get used to where everything was and then I was happy. Never felt crowded other than the pool area but I said next time I’ll use it right on embarkation day so I can say I used it 🤪 once I found all of the other options for breakfast, lunch and dinner, I didn’t step back in the buffet again which it was by day 2.5. Loved the boards by the elevators where you can find anything and everything. Hope you enjoyed it as well.

Great itinerary! I agree the new Prima class ships are wonderful. We loved the other included dining options such as Local and Indulge. We seldom went to the buffet.
