Review summary

We’re not big gamblers but others on board were and it seems the casino closed quite suddenly and quite often. Sometimes due to us/Canada reqs but other times unexplained. For kids aged 13+ there’s VERY little activities. Forget buffet go to the complimentary or paid restaurants. The biggest issue was the shore excursions. Arriving at night and having 1.5 hours to walk past closed stores or arriving so early nothings open? And very limited time at most stops. Many ppl had excursions canceled. If you’re looking for adult orientated cruise, will eat anything, don’t plan on going ashore, aren’t big on gambling and are content to sit at the 3-4 nice bars and just chat, you’ll love it.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Specialty Restaurants (expensive) we’re very good; complimentary restaurants were good; buffet was horrible except breakfast & few items. 60+% was spicy Indian food, reflective of the staff makeup. I don’t mind diverse foods but 90% of the guests are white and the food offered was def NOT geared towards the guests. If I were in Asia taking a cruise I’d expect majority Asian dishes, and not complain…. I’m aft bar they offered dried out hamburgers/hot dogs n stale fries daily. The paper thin daily pizza served in another bar from 12-2:30 was just gross. They did offer a wide variety of deserts.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Teen room limited to ping pong or movies. One swimming pool and 4 tiny hot tubs (often closed due to weather, not the ships fault). There’s no mini golf, rock climbing, slides, race car track, virtual reality, laser tag etc often found on ships for kiddos. Much more geared towards adults. NOT a kid friendly ship.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
C+/B- performers. Karaoke was more entertaining. We spoke to many experienced cruisers and not a one said they’d return to this ship

Children's Programs

Horrible. Nice lady but just no activities. Kids ended up just hanging out on their own chatting together most of time.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff were very friendly at all times. No complaints there.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Pretty clean, found hair in food twice.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
It was nice, typical size. The ladder to get to bunk for teen is VERY hard to climb and you need shoes on those steps!

Ship tip

WiFi is spotty even with premium expensive WiFi pkg. cell svc almost non existent so just plan on being out of touch

Very fun tram, beautiful views, neat shops. We didn’t eat there but heard a few compliments on local crab place.

Cruise Hubbard Glacier Did not visit port

Due to winds- or captains skittishness after hitting iceberg last month, he skipped this.

Juneau, Alaska

Are you kidding? Arrived 6am nothing open til 8-9 had to be back by noon and it was 20 min ROUGH drive from where we docked.

Victoria, British Columbia

Arrival at 8:45 pm everything’s closed but 2-3 bars & souvenir shops. 15 min drive in the dark can’t see anything and had to be back on shuttle by 11pm. This is a joke you get no time to visit, can’t see a thing.

Disembarkation

It was ok except I was the lucky random person pulled into Customs check. So entire family had to have all bags searched. Bad part was when my face was scanned I see big red letters “DETAIN” yikes! And NO ONE would/could tell me why. Waited while all other passengers disembarked looking at my family like were a bunch of criminals (because we were made to sit at ramp & wait). Wasn’t until we were actually in Border Patrol building they apologized for delay and explained we were being randomly searched.
